Overview

The Vimar 8000 Series is a family of 3-module snap-fixing cover plates for 3-module flush mounting boxes and mounting frame 08531. It is the visible finishing plate for the installation, not the switch insert or the support frame.

Across the range, these cover plates support horizontal or vertical mounting and use clamp-style snap fixing. All versions are 75.5 mm high and 6 mm deep. The anodized aluminium versions are 120 mm wide, while the resin version is 123 mm wide.

For marine interiors, this style of plate fits best in protected spaces such as cabins, galleys, heads, and enclosed helm panels where the box is already flush mounted. Because the front rating is IP00, it is better suited to dry interior locations than to exposed deck or washdown areas.

What changes between variants is the visible finish, base material, and width. The snap-fixing format, fit with mounting frame 08531, horizontal or vertical installation, 75.5 mm height, and 6 mm depth stay the same across the range.

• VM08637.BR: Bronze finish in anodized aluminium, 120 mm wide. This version has a metallic bronze look that works well where darker trim and switch surrounds are already in place.
• VM08637: Gold finish in anodized aluminium, 120 mm wide. It keeps the same fit as the bronze version with a warmer metallic appearance on the face of the panel.
• VM08637.A: Ivory finish in resin, 123 mm wide. This version has a lighter non-metallic look and a slightly wider front face.

Compatibility and fit

Fit is straightforward when the installation already uses the correct Vimar support. This cover plate is made for 3-module flush mounting boxes with mounting frame 08531, and it suits both new panel work and replacement of worn or outdated trim plates in the same series.

It can also be used in wall duct and subfloor duct applications where the matching box and frame are part of the build. Before ordering, check the series, module count, and support frame rather than matching by color alone.
