Overview

The Vimar Plana Series is a range of 2P+E Australian SICURY outlets for 250 V AC circuits, rated at 10 A and 50 to 60 Hz. Each version uses the AS/NZS 3112 type I format, fits a 2-module Plana position, and measures 44.8 x 49.0 x 38.7 mm.

This is a flush-mounted outlet with screw-terminal wiring, enhanced contact protection, and a thermoplastic body that is halogen free. With an IP20 rating, it suits interior mounting points on board that stay dry, such as cabins, saloons, berth areas, and other protected panel locations.

For refit work, the main buying checks are the Australian plug standard, the 10 A and 250 V AC rating, the 2-module Plana layout, and the available depth behind the panel. The range is offered in white or silver, both with a glossy finish.

Variants

This outlet is offered in two finish options within the same Plana 2-module format.

The color and surface treatment change between variants. The socket pattern, 10 A and 250 V rating, screw-terminal connection, IP20 protection, and overall dimensions remain the same across both versions.

• VM14261: White, RAL 9003, with an untreated glossy surface. This keeps the outlet understated on light cabin panels and standard white switch surrounds.
• VM14261.SL: Silver, RAL 9006, with a lacquered glossy surface. This adds more contrast on darker trim and modern interior panels.

Compatibility and fit

This range is intended for boats and marine interiors that use Australian type I plugs and a modular Vimar Plana switching layout. It is a single socket outlet, so it fits where one outlet point is needed within a 2-module opening.

Because protection is IP20, it makes more sense behind interior joinery and on bulkheads that stay sheltered. It is less suited to cockpit, open deck, or locker locations that see spray, washdowns, or constant damp air movement.

Installation and setup

Wiring is terminated on screw terminals, and the outlet sits flush at the front once installed. The 38.7 mm body depth is worth checking before a refit, especially where space behind the panel is tight or where existing cable runs already fill the box area.

A built-in label space is useful when the AC panel layout needs clear circuit identification. For a tidy result, the outlet should be matched to the correct Plana mounting arrangement already used on the vessel.
