Overview
The Vimar VM02473 is a snap-in G13 fluorescent tube lampholder rated 2 A at 500 V for replacing worn or heat-stressed holders in existing light fittings. It is a rigid, rotor-type lampholder with a stop and starter holder, which matches many traditional fluorescent fixtures that use a separate starter.
Connections are made with screwless terminals and it accepts both rigid and flexible conductors from 0.5 mm² to 1 mm². With a rated operating temperature up to 140 °C and brass contacts at the lamp interface, it is a practical spare to keep onboard for cabins, workshops, and other interior lighting where fluorescent tubes are still in service.

- Brass contacts at the lamp pins, white finish
Compatibility and fit
This lampholder is intended for fixtures that take G13 fluorescent tubes, commonly found on T8 and T12 lamps. Fit is dictated by the fixture style: it uses a rigid column body and snap fixing, and it includes a starter holder, so it best matches fittings built around a separate starter rather than starterless designs.
Before ordering, confirm the tube base is G13 and check that your existing holder mounts by snap-in retention. Also confirm your wiring can be terminated within the 0.5 mm² to 1 mm² conductor range.
Installation and setup
Isolate power at the breaker before opening the light fitting. Once the old holder is removed, the VM02473 snaps into the fixture and the conductors are inserted into the screwless terminals. For stranded boat cable, using properly sized ferrules helps keep the termination tidy and secure.
After reassembly, keep wiring routed so it cannot chafe on the fixture body and make sure the light housing is suitable for its mounting location. In lockers or other damp areas, the sealing and drainage of the overall fitting matters more than the lampholder itself.
Use cases on board
This part is a good match for boat owners maintaining legacy fluorescent fixtures in cabins, nav stations, and utility areas where a quick, clean lampholder swap is the difference between replacing a whole light and getting the existing fitting back in service.
