Overview
The Vimar VM08501 is a 1-standard-module mounting frame with claws for round ø 60 mm flush-mount boxes, used to secure Vimar 8000 series modular inserts behind a cover plate.
It mounts flush and can be oriented horizontally or vertically, which helps when the box is rotated or when the plate layout needs a specific direction. The insert mounts from the back side of the frame, so the front opening stays aligned for a clean finish.
On boats, this style of frame is common behind cabin and helm switching where European round boxes are used. It is a good match for refits where you are keeping the existing ø 60 mm box and updating the switching hardware on the Vimar 8000 platform.
Key features
- Fits round ø 60 mm flush-mount boxes and holds one standard module
- Claw fastening grips the box wall for a secure seat without relying on mounting screws
- Horizontal or vertical mounting orientation to suit plate and box alignment
- Back-side mounting for the module insert to keep the front opening clean and centered
- Thermoplastic frame in black for installations where the support should stay unobtrusive behind the plate
Compatibility and fit
This frame is built around the Vimar 8000 series 1-module format and a round ø 60 mm flush box. Confirm that your installation uses a ø 60 mm round box and that the box is soundly fixed in the bulkhead or panel so the claws can bite evenly.
It is not intended for surface-mount boxes, DIN rail assemblies, or square North American style electrical boxes. If you are replacing an older support, match both the box diameter and the module format before ordering.
Installation and setup
Seat the frame in the ø 60 mm flush box and align it to the plate orientation you want. Engage the claws so the frame sits flat and does not rock in the box, then install the 1-module insert from the back side and finish with the matching plate.
On a boat, take a moment to check clearance behind the panel for wiring bends and device depth, especially in thin liners and tight helm consoles where harnesses are often bundled close to the box.
On-board use
This frame is typically used behind interior switching and outlets in protected locations such as cabins, heads, nav stations, and inside helm consoles. If the installation is in a spot that sees direct spray or washdowns, plan for appropriate protection at the cover and device level, since the frame itself is only the support for the modular insert.
Maintenance and care
During routine electrical checks, verify the plate sits flat and the insert has not shifted in the box. If you ever remove the device for service, re-seat the frame so the claws are evenly engaged before reassembling the plate.
