Overview
The Vimar Eikon 20672 is a 2-module round cover plate used to finish a Vimar Eikon switch, outlet, or other insert with a clean trim ring. It follows the Eikon 2M format and sits on an 80 x 80 mm footprint with a depth of about 9 mm.
This is the visible cover plate only. It does not set the electrical rating of the circuit behind it, so 12V, 24V, or AC suitability depends on the Eikon device insert and the enclosure or back box used. With an IP00 protection level, it is intended for protected interior areas rather than locations that see direct spray.
Key features
- 2-module (2M) round cover plate format for the Vimar Eikon wiring device system
- 80 x 80 mm overall size and about 9 mm depth for tight panel layouts
- Works in horizontal or vertical orientation depending on how the 2 modules are installed
- Clamp mounting to the matching Eikon support frame for straightforward removal during servicing
- IP00 rating for interior installations in cabins, salons, nav stations, and protected helm panels
- Halogen-free construction
Variants
Finish is the main difference across the range. Options cover solid wood faces (Italian Walnut, American Cherrywood, White Oak) along with metallic and painted looks such as satin chrome, satin gold, polished gold, titanium tones, silver tones, champagne, matte anthracite, and white shades.
The plate format remains 2-module and round, so fit depends on having the matching Vimar Eikon 2-module support behind the device. Many Eikon 2-module frames use a 71 mm fixing centre, which is useful to verify on refits before selecting a finish.
Installation and service access
Install the Eikon device insert and its support frame first, then mount the cover plate once the device is aligned and tightened. On boats, a firm backing behind the panel helps keep the modules stable when the vessel is moving and reduces the chance of trim working loose over time.
Where damp air, washdowns, or condensation are expected, use a suitable enclosure or gasketed solution behind the plate. The cover plate itself is trim and should not be treated as a weather seal.
Use cases on board
This style of cover plate is a good match for Eikon-equipped interiors where you want consistent trim across cabins, galleys, and helm switch panels. Wood finishes blend with joinery, while the metal finishes suit instrument consoles and modern interior panels.
Care and cleaning
Wipe with a soft cloth. In saltwater environments, remove salt film with a lightly damp cloth and dry afterwards. Avoid abrasive pads and strong solvents that can mark plated or coated finishes, and use mild cleaners on the wood options.
