Overview
The Vimar VM71305.AU is a 5-module flush mounting box for recessed installations where you want Vimar electrical fittings to sit cleanly in a solid wall or bulkhead. The body measures 144 mm wide by 59 mm tall, with a 50 mm inner depth, which gives you working room for wiring behind a 5-module frame and faceplate.
It is made from halogen-free plastic and has a Glow Wire rating of 960 °C. Cable entry is handled through break-out openings sized for 20 mm and 25 mm conduit, with rear entry available as well, so you can route wiring the way your boat is built rather than forcing tight bends.
Key features
- 5-module flush box for Vimar mounting frames and faceplates
- Box size: 144 x 59 mm footprint with 50 mm inner depth
- Glow Wire 960 °C rating
- 16 break-out inlets, including rear entry; accepts 20 mm and 25 mm conduit
- Couplable format for side-by-side multi-gang runs
- IP00 enclosure; any sealing depends on the devices and front plate used
- Supplied without mounting screws
Compatibility and fit
This is a 5-module format box, so match it with a 5-module Vimar support frame and the correct series faceplate for the switches, sockets, or connectors you are installing. The box is specified for flush mounting in masonry and other solid walls; for thin liners or hollow panels, a different box style is typically used.
Installation and setup
Confirm you have enough depth behind the finish surface for the box and for the wiring to land without being forced against the back. On boats, this type of box is commonly set into a solid timber, fiberglass, or composite bulkhead and secured so it stays tight under vibration.
Knock out only the entries you need and keep the remaining openings intact. After pulling conductors through the chosen 20 mm or 25 mm entries, leave slack for servicing and make sure devices can be screwed down without pinching insulation.
Use notes on board
Because the enclosure itself is IP00, it is best placed in dry interior areas unless the front devices and faceplate provide the protection needed for that location. It suits cabins, galleys, and nav stations where you want wiring contained behind the panel with a clean flush finish.
