Overview

The i2Systems Profile P1100 is a surface-mount LED light with a low profile for 9-30V DC systems and a wide 120 degree beam. In the color versions it draws 1.5W, which keeps power use modest on typical courtesy-light circuits, and the round face measures 3.48 inches with a depth of about 0.72 inches.

It carries an IP67 rating for wet locations and uses a stainless-steel housing with a polycarbonate diffuser lens. This style of light is a practical fit when you want broad, low-glare illumination on a hardtop, arch, cockpit, steps, or along walkways, without cutting a large hole for a recessed downlight.

Installation and wiring

Installation is a straightforward surface mount with three fasteners and a small pass-through for the cable. Plan on a 5/16 inch (8 mm) clearance hole for the wire, and seal the pass-through and any nearby junction points in wet or damp areas so moisture does not migrate into the wiring space.

Connect red to DC positive and black to common ground, then switch the circuit like a standard light. Typical current draw is about 0.13A at 12V and about 0.06A at 24V for the color versions, so it integrates easily on properly fused lighting runs.

Compatibility and control

This fixture is suited to both 12V and 24V systems because it accepts 9-30V DC input. If you are adding dimming, the yellow control wire is used for the dimming input and should be matched with a compatible controller that stays within the control-voltage limits.

Placement on board

Red and blue lighting are commonly used where you want low-glare illumination at night, such as in the cockpit, around steps, or in a pilothouse.
