Overview

The i2Systems Aperion Tri Light is a spring-mount downlight that runs on 9-30 V DC and draws 1.5 W, making it a fit for both 12 V and 24 V onboard systems.

It combines red, blue, and white output in one fixture. White is offered in cool white or warm white depending on the variant, so you can keep night vision with red, run low-glare blue, or switch to white for general lighting.

With an IP67 rating and a stainless steel housing, it suits damp areas and regular washdowns. It fits a 2.39 in (61 mm) cutout with a 3.15 in (80 mm) bezel and about 1.24 in (32 mm) overall height.

Variants

This light is offered in multiple configurations based on white color temperature and bezel finish.

Across the range, the LED color set remains red, blue, and white, while the white output changes between cool white and warm white and the visible bezel changes between Chrome and White.

Installation and fit

Plan for a 2.39 in (61 mm) cutout and allow about 1.24 in (32 mm) clearance behind the mounting surface. The spring clips hold the fixture in place, which works well for overheads and bulkhead panels where you want a clean face without visible fasteners.

On cored panels, seal the exposed core around the cutout and keep wiring clear of sharp edges to prevent chafe over time.

Electrical and control

Connect it to a DC lighting circuit within the 9-30 V range. On 24 V boats, the wide input range helps avoid issues when system voltage rises during charging.

Dimming and control can be handled through LightLink dimmers such as LL-101 (momentary switch dimmer) and LL-105-R (0-10 V bridge and dimmer). LL-101 is listed to dim up to 20 compatible fixtures, and LL-105-R is listed to dim up to 50.

Use on board

Red and blue modes are commonly used to reduce glare and help preserve night vision on night runs, while white mode is used for everyday cabin and cockpit lighting. This mix works well in cabins, companionways, berths, and cockpits where you switch between underway and dockside lighting.

Boats that run long hours on house batteries and want multiple small fixtures rather than a few high-draw lights tend to benefit from the 1.5 W load per light.

Maintenance and care

Rinse salt spray off the bezel after washdowns and avoid abrasive cleaners on plated or painted finishes. In wet mounting locations, check the surrounding seal and wiring connections during seasonal inspections.
