Overview
The TACO Marine P10 Series is a King StarBoard marine lumber range for making or replacing boat accessories, panels, trim pieces, mounting pads, and other fabricated parts where wood, laminates, or common plastic do not hold up well. These sheets are made from high-density polyethylene and are UV-stabilized for marine exposure.
The material is built for wet, humid spaces on board and will not warp, rot, or delaminate when exposed to water. It can be cut, drilled, routed, and shaped with standard woodworking tools, which makes it practical for custom work in a cockpit, cabin, console, deck area, or dockside repair setup.
This range covers common project sizes from 6 x 12 inches up to 24 x 27 inches, with thickness options of 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch. Black and white options are available, giving builders and boat owners a clean match for many existing hardware layouts and interior or exterior finishes.
Key features
- King StarBoard marine polymer sheet for boat accessories, replacement panels, trim, mounting plates, and custom fabricated parts.
- High-density polyethylene construction helps replace wood, laminates, and standard plastic in wet marine locations.
- UV-stabilized material supports use in areas exposed to sun, spray, and changing weather.
- Resists warping, rot, and delamination when exposed to humidity or water.
- Works with standard woodworking tools, so cutting, drilling, routing, and shaping can be handled during normal shop or boatyard fabrication.
- Requires little to no finishing after fabrication, which helps reduce project time compared with painted or sealed wood.
- Available in multiple sheet sizes, thicknesses, and color options for different mounting, panel, and repair needs.
- Made in the USA and backed by a three-year limited warranty.
Variants
The range varies by color, sheet size, and thickness. Current options include black or white sheets, with dimensions such as 6 x 12 inches, 12 x 12 inches, 12 x 27 inches, and 24 x 27 inches. Thickness options include 1/4 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch, allowing the material to suit lighter trim work or more substantial fabricated parts.
The core material type and marine use remain consistent across the range: King StarBoard polymer lumber for boat projects where resistance to water, humidity, UV exposure, and delamination matters.
Installation and fabrication
This material is a good fit for boat owners, builders, and repair shops that need a workable sheet stock for custom parts. It can be measured, cut, drilled, routed, and fastened using common woodworking methods, while still giving better resistance to water exposure than wood-based materials.
For best results, the sheet size and thickness should be matched to the job. Thinner pieces are useful for covers, trim, and light panels, while thicker sheets make more sense for mounting pads, backing surfaces, and parts that need extra stiffness.
Use cases on board
The P10 Series works well for small fabrication jobs around fishing boats, cruisers, sailboats, tenders, and workboats. Common uses include electronics mounting surfaces, hatch or access panels, console upgrades, tackle station parts, cabin trim, dockside replacement pieces, and custom brackets where a clean polymer sheet is easier to maintain than wood.
It is especially useful for owners who want a part that can be shaped to fit an existing layout without painting, sealing, or worrying about rot in wet areas.
Maintenance and care
Routine care is simple. Rinse away salt and dirt after exposure, then clean the surface with mild soap and water as needed. Since the material does not require paint or varnish, it helps keep maintenance low on parts that see regular spray, humidity, or foot traffic around the boat.
