Overview
The TACO Marine P10-5012SFM27-1C is a 12 inch x 27 inch x 1/2 inch Seafoam King StarBoard polymer sheet for building, repairing, or replacing boat parts where wood, laminate, or general plastic would not hold up well. It is a practical cut-size panel for small fabrication work around consoles, cockpit areas, storage compartments, tackle stations, and other exposed spaces on board.
This marine lumber is made from high-density polyethylene with UV-stabilized material for use around sun, spray, saltwater, and humidity. It will not rot, warp, swell, splinter, or delaminate when exposed to water, which makes it a strong fit for boat projects that need a clean finish without painting or sealing.
The Seafoam color works well when a lighter, softer finish is preferred over bright white or black. The sheet can be cut, routed, drilled, and shaped with standard woodworking tools, so it suits both repair shops and owners handling measured upgrades on their own boats.
Key features
- 12 inch x 27 inch x 1/2 inch cut-size sheet for small marine fabrication and replacement jobs.
- Seafoam King StarBoard polymer gives boat projects a light finish that blends well with many cockpit, console, and interior surfaces.
- High-density polyethylene construction handles wet marine areas better than wood, laminate, or many general-purpose plastics.
- UV-stabilized material helps the sheet stand up to sun exposure during deck, cockpit, and dockside use.
- Will not rot, warp, swell, splinter, or delaminate when exposed to water or humidity.
- Can be cut, drilled, routed, and shaped with standard woodworking tools for custom panels, trim pieces, brackets, covers, and accessory mounts.
- Requires little to no finishing, so there is no need for paint, varnish, or sealing for normal marine use.
- Made in the USA and backed by a three-year limited warranty.
Installation and fabrication
Measure the mounting area carefully before cutting, especially around curved consoles, hatches, electronics spaces, and hardware clearances. The 1/2 inch thickness gives a useful balance of rigidity and workability for many small panels and boat accessory projects.
Use clean cutting tools and support the sheet during fabrication to keep edges even. Holes can be drilled for fasteners, switches, hinges, or brackets, and exposed edges can be eased or shaped for a more finished look.
Use cases on board
This sheet is well suited for replacing small worn wood or laminate pieces, making custom covers, creating backing panels, trimming storage areas, or adding a clean mounting surface for accessories. It is also useful for fishing boats, center consoles, cruisers, and sailboats where parts see regular moisture and sun.
For structural loads, hinge points, or hardware that will be pulled under force, match the fasteners and backing method to the job and the boat surface. The material works well for many onboard fabrication tasks, but proper support and fastening are still important for long-term service.
Maintenance and care
Routine cleaning is usually simple. Rinse away salt and dirt, then wash with mild soap and water as needed. Because the material does not require paint or varnish, upkeep is mainly about keeping the surface clean and checking mounted hardware during normal boat maintenance.
