Overview

The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD is a VEU491S electronic chart covering the Gulf of Finland from Vilniemi to Perniö, including Espoo and Helsinki, plus general coverage of the northern coast of Estonia from Vosu to Risti. It includes Depth Range Shading for up to 10 depth ranges, up to 1 ft contours, and Shallow Water Shading you set to your own depth, which helps when you are planning tracks around shoals and into harbors.

This chart includes 3D FishEye and MarinerEye perspectives, satellite imagery overlays, and aerial photos for ports, harbors, and marinas. Auto Guidance can calculate a suggested route based on the depth and overhead clearance you enter, and it still needs normal navigation checks underway.

Variants

This chart is offered in two delivery formats.

The region coverage and mapping features follow the VEU491S Kotka to Hanko chart area, while the format determines how you receive and load the mapping onto your Garmin device.

• 010-C0835-00: Format microSD/SD. The chart is supplied on a preprogrammed card that loads when inserted into the card slot on a compatible Garmin chartplotter.
• 010-D0425-00: Format Download. The chart is installed to a microSD/SD card using Garmin Express on a computer before the card is used in a registered compatible Garmin chartplotter.

Compatibility and fit

This is BlueChart g3 Vision mapping and requires a compatible Garmin chartplotter or marine handheld that supports BlueChart g3 Vision. Some chart layers, like 3D views and aerial photos, only appear on models that support those premium features.

If your system is set up around a different mapping format, confirm your device supports BlueChart g3 Vision before ordering so the chart loads and the layers you care about display correctly.

Installation and setup

For the microSD/SD card version, insert the card into the chartplotter card slot and allow the unit to load the chart.

For the download version, use Garmin Express to write the chart to a microSD/SD card, then insert that card into the chartplotter. Plan on using one chart per card so the unit reads the mapping cleanly.
