Overview
The Garmin GT56UHD-TR is a trolling motor transducer kit that mounts on compatible Force Kraken, Force, and Force Pro trolling motors to add or replace the built-in sonar element. It supports Traditional High-Wide CHIRP (150 to 240 kHz) plus ClearVü and SideVü scanning at 455 kHz (425 to 485 kHz), 800 kHz (790 to 850 kHz), and 1000 kHz (940 to 1100 kHz).
Power output is 350 W for Traditional CHIRP and 500 W for ClearVü and SideVü. Maximum depth is up to 800 ft in freshwater on Traditional CHIRP, up to 400 ft on ClearVü, and up to 500 ft on SideVü. It also reports depth and water temperature, which is handy when you are dialing in patterns or tracking a thermocline.
This transducer uses a 12-pin connection, so fit is a mix of the trolling motor model and a matching sonar-capable display or sonar module on your boat. If you are swapping an existing built-in transducer, confirming the plug style and sonar functions on your display keeps the install straightforward.
Key features
- Traditional High-Wide CHIRP plus ClearVü and SideVü scanning in one transducer
- Frequency set covers 150 to 240 kHz CHIRP and 455, 800, and 1000 kHz scanning ranges
- Power output: 350 W Traditional CHIRP and 500 W ClearVü and SideVü
- Maximum depth ratings: 800 ft freshwater (Traditional), 400 ft (ClearVü), 500 ft (SideVü)
- Depth and temperature sensing built in for real-time readings
- 12-pin connector for integration with compatible sonar equipment
- Cable length is set up for Force Kraken trolling motors with a factory-installed transducer (black models); some white models require a separate extension cable
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations to match different trolling motor families and shaft lengths.
The compatibility listed below is the key difference between variants, so the right selection comes down to your trolling motor model and its shaft length.
- 010-02732-02: Compatibility 75" Force Kraken. Built to fit the 75" Force Kraken shaft length so the transducer and cable routing match that setup.
- 010-02732-03: Compatibility 48" Force Kraken. Sized for the 48" Force Kraken shaft length for a clean, factory-style fit.
- 010-02732-01: Compatibility 63" Force Kraken. Matches the 63" Force Kraken shaft length for proper placement and cable reach.
- 010-02732-04: Compatibility 50"/57" Force/Force Pro. Covers the two common shaft lengths used on Force and Force Pro installations.
Compatibility and fit
Start by confirming your trolling motor family (Force Kraken vs Force or Force Pro) and the shaft length printed on the motor. This kit is intended for motors configured for a built-in transducer location, so it is a good match when you are replacing a damaged transducer or adding sonar hardware to a compatible motor.
On Force Kraken setups, cable length is intended for black models that ship with a factory-installed transducer. Some white models need a separate extension cable to reach the sonar connection point without tension on the wiring.
Installation and setup
Installation follows the trolling motor transducer path, with the transducer seated in the built-in mounting location and the cable routed through the shaft. Take the time to secure the cable so it does not chafe, and leave enough slack at pivot points so stow and deploy cycles do not pull on the connector.
At the helm, connect the 12-pin plug to the matching port on your sonar-capable display or sonar module, then select the appropriate sonar views (Traditional, ClearVü, and SideVü) in your sounder settings. A quick on-water check at idle helps confirm clear returns and stable temperature readings.
