Overview
The Raymarine B744V is a bronze thru-hull TRIDUCER multisensor that reads depth, speed, and water temperature through one hull opening. It runs at 50 kHz and 200 kHz with 600 W RMS power, giving the boat a conventional dual-frequency sonar source for fishfinder and sounder setups that need dependable bottom tracking plus basic water-speed and temperature data.
This transducer family is built for fiberglass and wood hulls, with a bronze housing, 33 ft. / 10 m cable length, 45° beam width at 50 kHz, and 12° beam width at 200 kHz. Maximum depth is rated to 1,200 ft. on low frequency and 700 ft. on high frequency, with model options for standard or long-stem installations and with or without the E66023 fairing block.
The B744V is a practical fit for fishing and cruising boats where one thru-hull sensor needs to handle depth, speed, and temperature without adding separate fittings for each reading. The removable paddlewheel insert and self-closing valve help with service access while limiting water flow into the hull when the insert is removed.
Key features
- Depth, speed, and water-temperature sensing in one thru-hull housing, reducing the number of hull penetrations needed.
- 600 W RMS conventional sonar performance with dual-frequency 50 / 200 kHz operation.
- 45° beam at 50 kHz for wider coverage and 12° beam at 200 kHz for a narrower view with better target detail in shallower water.
- Bronze housing for fiberglass and wood hull installations.
- Rated depth capability of 1,200 ft. at low frequency and 700 ft. at high frequency.
- Self-closing valve reduces water flow into the boat when the paddlewheel insert is removed for cleaning or storage.
- Available in standard and long-stem configurations, with fairing-block options for installations that need the E66023 block.
Variants
The Raymarine B744V range is offered in four configurations covering stem length and whether the E66023 fairing block is included.
Across the range, the core transducer function remains depth, speed, and temperature sensing in a bronze thru-hull body. The variant differences are the stem length and the fairing-block package, with the long-stem versions adding extra stem length for thicker hull installations.
- A26043: Standard stem, without E66023 fairing block. This configuration keeps the standard stem format and does not include the fairing block in the package.
- A66091: Standard stem, with E66023 fairing block. This configuration pairs the standard stem transducer with the matching high-performance fairing block.
- A26044: Long stem, without E66023 fairing block. The long-stem format adds 2.5 inches of stem length for thicker hull installations while leaving the fairing block out of the package.
- A66092: Long stem, with E66023 fairing block. This configuration combines the added stem length with the E66023 fairing block for installations that require both.
Installation and setup
This is a thru-hull transducer, so installation requires a suitable hull location, a properly drilled opening, bedding, tightening, and interior access for the stem and cable run. The hull location should keep the transducer in clean water flow and away from turbulence from strakes, thru-hulls, propellers, or trailer bunks.
The fairing-block versions are used where the hull angle or running attitude benefits from a faired installation. The fairing helps align the transducer face and can improve readings while the boat is underway, especially compared with a sensor mounted where turbulent water passes over the face.
Compatibility and fit
The B744V family is intended for compatible Raymarine 600 W fishfinder and sonar systems, including CP370-type conventional sonar applications. Before installation, the cable connector, display or sounder module, hull material, hull thickness, and deadrise should all be checked against the exact variant being installed.
The transducer is rated for fiberglass and wood hulls. It is not a generic NMEA 2000 sensor, and it should be matched to the correct Raymarine sonar or instrument interface rather than treated as a plug-and-play network device.
Use cases on board
This transducer suits boats that need conventional fishfinder depth readings along with speed-through-water and temperature from a single thru-hull location. It makes sense for coastal fishing, cruising, and general navigation setups where the owner wants one serviceable underwater fitting instead of separate depth, speed, and temperature sensors.
Maintenance and care
The paddlewheel should be kept clean so speed readings remain responsive, especially in warm water or areas with heavy growth. During haul-out, inspect the bronze housing, fairing block if fitted, cable exit, and bedding area for impact damage, corrosion issues around nearby metals, or signs of movement at the hull.
