Overview
The Blue Sea Systems Common 100A Mini BusBar is a compact common busbar for organizing multiple electrical connections in tight marine electrical spaces. It is rated for 100A continuous service and supports systems up to 300V AC or 48V DC, making it useful for many boat wiring layouts where a small footprint matters.
This Mini BusBar range is commonly used to collect negative circuits, AC grounding circuits, or positive distribution points when installed with the right overcurrent protection and wiring practices for the system. The bus is made from tin-plated copper CDA 110/UNS11000, with a reinforced insulating base that suits installations inside consoles, lockers, battery compartments, and small distribution panels.
Key features
- 100A continuous rating for compact common power or grounding distribution on board.
- Voltage rating of 300V AC and 48V DC for use across a wide range of marine electrical systems.
- Tin-plated copper CDA 110/UNS11000 bus supports good conductivity while adding corrosion resistance for marine environments.
- Mini format works well where standard busbars take up too much room behind panels, under helm stations, or near batteries.
- Available in 4-gang and 5-gang layouts, with covered and uncovered versions to match the protection and access needs of the installation.
- Terminal hardware varies by configuration, including #10-32 studs on 4-gang models and #10-32 studs with #8-32 screw terminals on 5-gang models.
Variants
The product is offered in four configurations that change the number of connection points and whether a clear protective cover is included.
The 4-gang versions use #10-32 terminal studs, while the 5-gang versions add #8-32 screw terminals along with #10-32 studs. The 100A continuous rating and 300V AC or 48V DC maximum voltage apply across the range.
- 2315, 4 Gang, With Cover. This version suits small distribution areas where four stud connections are enough and covered terminals are preferred for added protection inside the installation space.
- 2314, 5 Gang, With Cover. This version adds more branch connection points and includes a clear cover, which helps keep the wiring area protected while still allowing visual inspection.
- 2305, 4 Gang, Without Cover. This version keeps the 4-gang stud layout open for installations where the busbar is already protected inside an enclosure or panel.
- 2304, 5 Gang, Without Cover. This version provides the 5-gang layout without the cover for compact panels or enclosed locations where quick terminal access is more important.
Installation and setup
Mount the busbar on a dry, accessible surface with enough clearance for ring terminals, cable bends, and future service work. Because this is a common busbar and not a circuit protection device, positive distribution circuits still need proper fusing or breakers sized for the connected conductors and loads.
For clean wiring, group circuits by function and keep cable runs supported so vibration is not carried by the terminals. Covered versions are a better match for areas where accidental contact with terminals is a concern, while uncovered versions fit well inside protected electrical enclosures.
Compatibility and fit
This busbar is a good match for boat owners, installers, and refit projects that need a compact way to tidy several common connections without moving to a larger distribution block. It is especially useful behind helm panels, near switch panels, in electronics lockers, or in small service areas where space is limited and the wiring still needs to remain easy to trace.
Before installation, confirm the selected gang count, cover style, terminal size, voltage, and 100A rating against the vessel wiring plan. The final installation should follow marine wiring practice for conductor sizing, terminal torque, strain relief, and circuit protection.
