Overview

The TACO Marine T10-4000-8 is a ShadeFin Mini deck mount with backing plate for a permanent mounting point on a boat deck, console top, or other flat surface. It gives the ShadeFin Mini a fixed base while still allowing the shade unit to be removed and stowed when the boat is not in use or when the deck needs to stay clear.

The mount is made from powder-coated 6061 aluminum alloy in a misty silver finish, with a backing plate to help support the installation from below the mounting surface. An injection-molded nylon cap is included so the mount can be covered after the ShadeFin Mini is removed, which helps keep the installation tidy on exposed deck and console areas.

Installation and fit

This mount is for flat mounting surfaces where access to the underside is available for the backing plate. Before drilling, check the deck or console structure, nearby wiring, liner clearance, and the swing of the ShadeFin Mini so the shade can be positioned where it will be useful without interfering with helm controls, hatches, or walkways.

The included six mounting screws and backing plate help create a secure attachment point, but the final installation should match the thickness and condition of the mounting surface. On cored decks or console tops, seal all drilled holes carefully to help keep water out of the laminate or core material.
