Overview
The Garmin 010-12439-10 is a tilt/swivel mounting bracket for Garmin STRIKERâ„¢ Plus 4 and STRIKERâ„¢ Plus 4cv fishfinders, and it is also used with STRIKERâ„¢ Vivid 4cv units with the 4-inch display.
It gives you a simple way to aim the screen where you need it at the helm, in the cockpit, or from a seated position on smaller boats. The base mounts to a flat surface, and the bracket lets you adjust the viewing angle without moving the whole unit around the console.
Key features
- Tilt and swivel adjustment to aim the screen toward your operating position and help with glare.
- Compatibility for Garmin STRIKERâ„¢ Plus 4, STRIKERâ„¢ Plus 4cv, and STRIKERâ„¢ Vivid 4cv displays.
- Surface-mount base for common mounting spots like a dash top, console shelf, or flat deck area.
- Handy for replacing a worn or missing bracket when the display itself is still in good shape.
Installation and setup
Mount it where the display is easy to see and reach while you are running the boat, and where the cabling can be routed cleanly behind the panel. Leave enough slack in the power and transducer leads so the screen can be tilted and swiveled without pulling on the connectors.
Use fasteners that match your mounting surface, and seal any holes through fiberglass or cored panels to keep water out of the console. On open boats and kayaks, placing the mount where it is less likely to be kicked or snagged helps the screen stay aligned over time.
Compatibility and fit
This is a display mount, not a transducer mount. It is meant for the STRIKERâ„¢ Plus 4 and 4cv size class, including STRIKERâ„¢ Vivid 4cv, and it is a good match when you want the Garmin bracket style that allows screen-angle adjustment at the mounting point.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt and grit off the mount when you wash down the boat, and keep sand out of the pivot points. If the unit sees heavy spray, a quick freshwater rinse after each trip helps the mount keep moving smoothly.
