Overview
The JL Audio 010-13458-00 is a 2-channel 3.5 mm (1/8 in.) mini-to-RCA audio interconnect used to feed a left/right stereo signal into RCA line inputs on a marine stereo or amplifier. It is 6 ft (1.83 m) long, which is a practical run from a helm pocket or dash-mounted media point to a nearby head unit, amp rack, or signal processor.
The mini plug fits standard 3.5 mm jacks, including recessed ports that can be hard to reach with oversized plugs. On the RCA end, the two male plugs carry the left and right channels, so you can connect to a pair of RCA AUX or line inputs.
Key features
- 2-channel stereo: one 3.5 mm mini plug to two male RCA plugs (left and right)
- 6 ft (1.83 m) cable length for typical helm-to-electronics-bay routing
- 3.5 mm plug shape that fits standard and recessed mini jacks
- Pure OFC copper conductors with polyethylene dielectrics for low-loss signal runs
- Molded connector bodies with machined brass connector elements
- Satin black outer jacket that blends in behind panels and in entertainment lockers
Compatibility and fit
This cable is for line-level audio. Your source device needs a 3.5 mm stereo output, and your destination device needs a pair of RCA line inputs. If the destination uses a different connector style or expects speaker-level input, this is not the right connection.
It does not connect an amplifier to speakers and should not be used on powered speaker outputs.
Installation and routing on board
Route it through dry spaces and support it so vibration does not work the connectors loose over time. When passing through a bulkhead or a cutout, use a grommet or bushing to protect the jacket from chafe.
For cleaner audio, keep it separated from high-current 12 V/24 V power runs, chargers, and inverter wiring where you can. Leave a little service slack at each end so panels can be removed without yanking the plugs.
Who it suits
This is a good match for boats that already have RCA inputs on the stereo or amplifier and want a simple, hard-wired AUX feed from a phone, tablet, portable media player, or other 3.5 mm audio source at the helm or in the cabin.
