Overview
The JL Audio 010-13874-00 is a pipe-mount swivel clamp set for VeX enclosed speaker pods that fits 2.625 in round tubing. It is a clean way to mount a pair of pods to a wake tower, T-top frame, radar arch, or any other round tube where you need a secure hold and the ability to aim the speakers where people actually sit.
The clamp size is 2.625 in inner diameter and the swivel hardware lets you fine-tune the speaker angle by about +/-30 degrees once the mounts are tightened down. When mounted, the enclosure sits about 5/8 in off the pipe, which helps with clearance around welds, tower wraps, and cable exits.
Key features
- 2.625 in clamp size for round tube (2-5/8 in outside diameter)
- Swivel adjustment of about +/-30 degrees for aiming after installation
- Machined aluminum hardware with a black finish
- Sold as a set to mount two VeX pods (one pair of speakers)
- Low-profile spacing keeps the enclosure about 5/8 in off the pipe
- Includes mounting hardware and thread-locking compound for installations that see vibration
Compatibility and fit
This mount set is used with VeX enclosed speaker systems, including PS650-VeX models, and is sized specifically for 2.625 in round pipe. Confirm your tube diameter with calipers or a precise wrap-and-measure method before ordering, since clamp fit is size-specific and not meant to stretch over larger tubing.
Plan your mounting location so the enclosure clears tower bends, joints, and any canvas or bimini hardware. Leave room for the speaker wiring to route cleanly and add a drip loop so water does not follow the cable into connectors.
Installation and setup
Wrap the protective strip on the tube where the clamp sits to help prevent scratching and to keep the mount from walking on polished or painted towers. Tighten fasteners evenly, use the supplied thread-locking compound, and re-check hardware after the first day on the water or any rough run where the tower sees a lot of shake.
Once the clamps are secure, use the swivel adjustment to point the pods toward the cockpit seating area instead of straight down the length of the boat. A small aim change can make a noticeable difference without needing to move the mounts.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the mounts with fresh water after saltwater use and wipe them down to keep the finish looking clean. Periodically inspect fasteners as part of your tower hardware check, especially if the boat is trailered often or stored outside in sun and spray.
