Overview
The B&G Nemesis Sailing Display is a full-touch sailing data display offered in 9 inch and 12 inch sizes. It runs on 12/24 V DC power (10-31.2 V input range) and carries an IPX6/IPX7 waterproof rating for exposed helm or mast installations.
Both sizes use an IPS SolarMax HD screen with wide viewing angles and brightness that stays readable in strong sun. The 9 inch version is rated at 1300 nits with a 1280 x 720 resolution, and the 12 inch version is rated at 1500 nits with a 1280 x 800 resolution.
Pages can be built from pre-set dashboards or created from scratch with a drag and drop editor. Context modes can change what is shown based on point of sail, so the numbers you care about stay in front of you as conditions change.
Key features
- Multi-touch IPS SolarMax HD display with wide viewing angles and support for viewing with polarized sunglasses
- Two screen sizes: 9 inch (1280 x 720, 1300 nits) and 12 inch (1280 x 800, 1500 nits)
- 12/24 V DC supply (10-31.2 V min-max) with max power draw of 13 W (9 inch) or 19 W (12 inch)
- NMEA 2000 Micro-C connection (1 LEN) for instrument and sensor data on the backbone
- 8-pin power/Ethernet connection for tying into a B&G CPU Ethernet network
- Built-in Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n)
- IPX6/IPX7 waterproof rating for spray and cockpit washdowns
- Portrait or landscape mounting, with panel-mount and rear-mount options
- Supports multi-display setups when connected through a Nemesis Hub
- Compass safe distance: 0.5 m (1.6 ft)
Variants
This product is offered in multiple screen-size configurations.
The main differences are screen size, brightness, resolution, and power draw. Across the range, connectivity follows the same pattern with NMEA 2000 (Micro-C) plus a combined power/Ethernet connection, and both sizes support portrait or landscape mounting.
- 000-15611-001: Size 9 inch. A practical fit for mast mounting or tighter helm pods where space is limited but readability still matters.
- 000-16518-001: Size 7 inch. A smaller fit for mast mounting or tighter helm pods where space is limited.
- 000-15612-001: Size 12 inch. A better match when the display needs to be read from farther back in the cockpit or when you want more data visible at once.
Installation and setup
The display can be installed in a cutout for panel mounting or fastened from behind for rear mounting, and the same housing supports portrait or landscape orientation. Plan routing for the combined power/Ethernet cable and a NMEA 2000 drop to the backbone, and keep the unit at least 0.5 m (1.6 ft) from a magnetic compass. Protect the supply with a fuse or breaker sized to the display: 1.5 A for the 9 inch unit or 2 A for the 12 inch unit on 12/24 V systems.
Electrical and system integration
Nemesis can take sailing and instrument data over NMEA 2000 through the Micro-C connector, and it can also exchange data over Ethernet via the 8-pin power/Ethernet port. For multi-screen layouts in one area, a Nemesis Hub can distribute power and Ethernet between displays. On more complex boats, it helps to map out which sensors and processors live on NMEA 2000 versus Ethernet so the data you want shows up at the station where this display is installed.
Use on board
This display is a good match for sailors who want a dedicated, easy-to-read screen for performance and instrument data at the mast, helm, or a trim station. It fits race boats that switch between upwind and downwind pages during maneuvers, and it also works well on cruising sailboats where having clear cockpit instrumentation reduces trips below.
Maintenance and care
Even with an IPX6/IPX7 rating, it is worth rinsing salt off the face and connectors and making sure cable strain relief stays secure after service. Use mild cleaners on the touchscreen, and check mounting fasteners and cable support after the first few outings and during seasonal maintenance.
