Overview

The Garmin 010-12440-00 is a flush-mount kit for installing a compatible STRIKER 4-series fishfinder into a dash or console panel. It creates a cleaner helm install than a standard bail mount and comes with mounting hardware, a cutout template, and instructions.

For helm layout planning, the STRIKER 4 compass safe distance is 25 cm (9.84 in.). Leave enough space behind the panel for the power and transducer connections so cables are not forced into a tight bend.

Compatibility and fit

This kit is intended for STRIKER 4-series housings, including the STRIKER 4 Portable Bundle display. Confirm the model name on the bezel or in your device information menu before you cut any fiberglass, acrylic, or aluminum.

Flush mounting works best on a surface that stays stiff and mostly flat. If your console is cored, seal the raw edge of the cutout after fitting to help keep moisture out of the core.

Installation and setup

Tape the supplied template at the chosen location, then check behind the panel for wiring, steering, and throttle clearances. Cut the opening carefully, test-fit the unit, and clean up the edge so the bezel sits evenly all the way around.

Secure the unit using the included hardware and tighten evenly. Add a little slack and strain relief in the cabling so vibration and routine helm movement do not pull on the connectors.

Use on board

A flush install is a good match for center consoles, small wheelhouses, and compact dashes where you want the fishfinder easy to see without sticking out into the cockpit. It also keeps the screen out of the way when you are moving around with rods, nets, and gear.
