Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a family of 2P+E universal outlet modules for flush-mounted AC installations, built around a 16A, 250V format. In the configurations shown here, the range includes standard outlets, antibacterial versions, covered versions, and outlet plus USB-C combinations, all within the same Plana 2-module footprint.
This is the kind of outlet used where you need a clean wall or panel finish and a familiar AC connection point inside the boat, not out in weather. The core outlet format is rated for 50-60Hz operation and IP20, so it suits protected interior areas such as cabins, enclosed helm spaces, galleys, and service panels where the face of the device is kept away from spray and washdowns.
Key features
- 2P+E universal outlet format with 16A, 250V AC rating
- Flush-mounted 2-module Plana device for a neat panel or wall finish
- Screw-terminal connection for fixed wiring
- IP20 protection for dry interior locations
- Enhanced contact protection built into the outlet body
- Range includes standard color options, antibacterial versions, covered versions, and models with integrated USB-C charging
Variants
Across the range, the main differences are finish, antibacterial treatment, the presence of a cover, and whether the outlet adds a USB-C charging function. The listed configurations include white, silver, red, white antibacterial, orange antibacterial, red antibacterial, and green antibacterial front options, with both uncovered and covered formats in selected versions.
USB-C versions add a Type-C charging output rated at 5V, 3A, 15W alongside the 16A, 250V universal outlet. Covered versions add a front cover at the outlet face, while antibacterial versions keep the same outlet role but change the front material treatment and color options for spaces where shared touch points matter more.
Electrical and system fit
This is an AC outlet family, not a 12V or 24V DC socket. On board, it belongs on the vessel's AC system, whether that circuit is fed from shore power, generator power, or an inverter that supplies the appropriate AC output. Buyers checking compatibility should match the outlet style, mounting system, and local plug use before ordering.
The universal outlet format in this family is aimed at broad plug acceptance within the supported standard, which is useful on boats that move between crews, guests, or service environments where plug types may vary. The USB-C versions also make sense where phones, tablets, or handheld electronics are charged regularly without taking up the main outlet with an adapter.
Installation and fit
These modules are made for flush mounting and use screw terminals, so they are best fitted during a proper panel build or refit rather than as a loose accessory. The standard outlet version measures 44.8 x 49 x 25 mm, which helps when checking space behind liners, furniture panels, and electrical service voids.
For marine use, this range is a good match for protected interior zones where appearance, everyday convenience, and orderly integration matter more than weather sealing. It is not the right choice for open deck, cockpit, swim platform, or other exposed locations unless the full installation keeps the device in a protected enclosure suited to the environment.
