Overview
The Attwood Marine LED Docking Lights is a pair of surface-mount white LED docking lights for adding useful forward light near the bow without making large hull cutouts. Each light measures about 4.5 inches long, 2.8 inches wide, and 1.2 inches high, giving the installation a low-profile look on runabouts, fishing boats, cruisers, and other vessels that need better visibility around slips, pilings, dock cleats, and trailer approaches after dark.
The broad 120-degree light pattern is intended for close-range docking visibility rather than a narrow spotlight beam. The white LEDs stay cool to the touch and draw less power than traditional 55-watt halogen docking lights, which helps reduce load on the boat’s electrical system during repeated docking, loading, and night operation.
The surface-mount layout keeps the installation straightforward. Only a small wire pass-through and screw attachment points are needed, and the gasketed assembly helps protect the hull opening while keeping the light housing sealed against water exposure in normal marine use.
Key features
- Pair of white LED docking lights for improving close-range visibility around docks, slips, ramps, and marina approaches.
- 120-degree beam spread helps illuminate a wider working area than a narrow headlight-style beam.
- Low-profile housing measures about 4.5 inches by 2.8 inches by 1.2 inches for clean surface mounting on the hull.
- Surface-mount installation reduces hull intrusion and requires only a small wiring hole plus screw attachment points.
- Sealed electrical components and a rubber gasket help protect the hull opening and light assembly from water exposure.
- LED operation draws less power than comparable 55-watt halogen docking lights while staying cool to the touch.
- Available with either stainless steel or black powder coat bezel finish to match different hull, rail, and trim styles.
Variants
This product is offered in two bezel finishes, with both configurations serving the same general purpose as a pair of surface-mount white LED docking lights.
The finish is the visible difference between the variants. Stainless steel gives the light a polished metal look, while black powder coat gives it a darker trim appearance for boats with black hardware, windshields, rails, or graphics.
- 6522SS7: Bezel finish stainless steel. This finish suits boats where exposed metal trim, stainless hardware, or a brighter bezel appearance will blend naturally with the surrounding fittings.
- 6523BK7: Bezel finish black powder coat. This finish works well when the light needs to visually tie in with black hull accents, dark windshield frames, rub rail details, or other black exterior hardware.
Installation and setup
These lights are meant for surface mounting, which makes them a practical upgrade when the goal is to add docking light coverage without using a large hole saw. Plan the mounting location around the bow area where the beam can reach dock edges and cleats without being blocked by rails, anchor hardware, or trailer guides.
Before drilling, check the inside of the mounting area for wire routing, access, and clearance. A clean seal around the wire pass-through matters on any hull-mounted light, especially on boats that see spray, washdowns, and repeated vibration underway.
Use cases on board
These docking lights are a good match for boaters who regularly return to slips, ramps, or moorings in low light and want better awareness close to the bow. They are especially useful for slow-speed maneuvering near pilings, floating docks, trailer bunks, and marina fairways where broad nearby illumination is more useful than long-range projection.
