Overview
The Simrad 000-10590-001 is a bracket with hand knobs that mounts an AP70 or AP80 autopilot control head on a surface where you want a tilt-adjustable display instead of a flush install.
It gives you a stable mounting point at the helm while letting you set the viewing angle and snug it down once it is where you want it. This is a practical option on boats where glare, vibration, or multiple operators can make a fixed viewing angle frustrating.
Key features
- Bracket mount made for Simrad AP70 and AP80 autopilot control heads
- Hand knobs let you adjust the angle and lock the unit in position without tools
- Useful for console, bulkhead, or overhead mounting when a flush cutout is not preferred
- Keeps the control head accessible for cleaning and service while still holding it securely
Compatibility and fit
Fits Simrad AP70 and AP80 control heads. Before drilling, confirm you have enough clearance for the control head footprint, cable bend radius, and access to the rear connectors once the bracket is installed.
This is mounting hardware only. The autopilot control head and any cabling are sold separately.
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting location so the screen is readable from your normal steering position and the bracket can move through its adjustment range without contacting a windshield frame, grab rail, or other helm hardware.
On boats that see heavy pounding, the mount is only as strong as the surface behind it. Use marine-appropriate fasteners and backing support for your panel material, and seal any penetrations to help keep water out of the core.
Use on board
A good match for helms that need an adjustable viewing angle, such as flybridges, open center consoles, or pilothouses where operators sit and stand at different heights. It also helps when you want the AP70 or AP80 within reach but do not want to commit to a cutout in a dash panel.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt spray off the bracket and knobs during routine washdowns, and re-check fastener tightness as part of seasonal maintenance. If the unit is adjusted often, keep the pivot points clean so the knobs tighten smoothly and the display holds its set angle.
