Overview
The Simrad 000-10465-001 is a gimbal-style mounting bracket used to bracket-mount Simrad NSS8 displays and the related NSS9 evo2 and B&G Zeus T8/Zeus2-9 series.
It is the right part when you want a fixed-mount installation that still lets you tilt the screen to manage glare and improve viewing from the helm. Mounting knobs are sold separately, so plan on reusing the knobs you already have or sourcing a knob set if yours are missing.
This bracket is commonly used on consoles, electronics boxes, and nav stations where you want the display up and accessible without cutting a flush-mount opening.
Key features
- Bracket (gimbal) mount style that allows the display to be tilted to suit your sightline at the helm
- Compatibility across Simrad NSS8 and NSS9 evo2 displays, plus B&G Zeus T8 and Zeus2-9 series
- Mounting knobs are not included, so they must be supplied separately
- Good option when you want service access behind the display without removing trim panels or a flush-mount kit
- Works well in typical helm locations where vibration and repeated washdowns make a firm bracket mount preferable
Compatibility and fit
Match the bracket to the display family name on your unit before ordering. This bracket is for the NSS8 and NSS9 evo2 families and the equivalent B&G Zeus T8/Zeus2-9 units; it is not a flush-mount kit and does not replace model-specific dash mounting hardware.
Installation and setup
Dry-fit the bracket first so the display clears steering wheels, throttles, grab rails, and windshield frames through its full tilt range. Once the location is set, mark and drill the mounting holes, then bed the fasteners with a marine sealant that suits your mounting surface to help keep water out of the console.
Leave a small service loop in the cabling so the unit can tilt and be removed without pulling on connectors. Keeping cables supported and away from sharp edges helps prevent intermittent power or network issues later.
Use on board
This bracket suits boats where the display is frequently adjusted for sun angle, such as center consoles, pilothouses, and sailboat nav stations. It also makes sense if you trailer, cover the helm often, or prefer an installation that allows the display to come off for storage or service.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt and grit from the bracket area during washdowns and check the side hardware periodically so the display stays tight at your preferred angle. If you notice movement over time, recheck the mounting fasteners and the knob tension.
