Overview
The Garmin 010-01865-30 is a wireless marine camera that streams 720p (1280 x 720) video to a compatible Garmin chartplotter over Wi-Fi. It covers a wide area with a 183-degree diagonal viewing angle and switches to infrared illumination for visibility in darkness up to 3 m.
Power is hardwired (10 to 30 V DC) for typical 12V and 24V boats, and the housing is rated IPX7 for wet installations. The camera body is small at 2.0 x 1.6 x 1.1 in (W x H x D), which helps when you need coverage in tight spots like an engine space access area, cockpit overhang, transom corner, or under a hardtop.
One chartplotter can pair with up to 7 cameras, and you can display up to 4 feeds at once for quick checks around the boat.
Key features
- 720p HD video stream (1280 x 720) over Wi-Fi to a compatible Garmin chartplotter
- 183-degree diagonal field of view (160-degree horizontal, 90-degree vertical) for broad coverage with fewer blind spots
- Built-in IR illumination (940 nm) for night viewing up to 3 m
- Hardwired power input (10 to 30 V DC) for common 12V and 24V electrical systems
- IPX7-rated housing for exposure to spray and washdowns
- Standard and reverse image modes to suit different mounting orientations
- Wi-Fi range rated up to 70 m (230 ft) line of sight
- Supports pairing up to 7 cameras, with viewing from up to 4 cameras simultaneously
Compatibility and fit
This camera is built to display video on a compatible Garmin chartplotter and can make the feed available to other chartplotters on the same network. Wireless range is rated up to 70 m (230 ft) line of sight, so placement on board matters and heavy structure between the camera and display can reduce signal.
With its wide viewing angle and small housing, it works well for close-range monitoring where you want to see more of a compartment or working area without adding multiple cameras.
Installation and setup
Mounting uses a screw-down bracket, which helps keep the camera stable when the boat is vibrating or pounding. Power is hardwired using the included 10 m IPX7 power cable, giving you flexibility to route back to a helm breaker panel, electronics bus, or other protected distribution point.
After wiring and mounting, pairing is done from the chartplotter using the camera setup process, then you can assign views and flip the image if your mounting direction calls for it.
On-board use
Common mounting locations include engine rooms, mechanical spaces, aft deck and cockpit areas, and the transom for close-in awareness during docking or backing. It is a practical fit for skippers who want quick visual checks below deck and for crews who want another set of eyes when moving around the boat at night.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue from the housing after runs and wipe the lens with a clean microfiber cloth to keep the image sharp. Periodically check that the mount screws stay snug and that the cable routing is supported so the connector and strain relief are not taking constant movement.
