Overview

The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD VUS002R is an electronic chart for compatible Garmin chartplotters covering the South Maine coast from Penobscot Bay through Gloucester, including Casco Bay and Cape Ann.

It adds planning and visual layers that are helpful when you are running close to shore, working tidal harbors, or easing into marinas. You get Auto Guidance route suggestions based on your selected depth and overhead clearance, plus bottom detail shown with up to 1-foot contours and depth range shading with up to 10 ranges.

On supported displays, the chart can be viewed with relief shading, shallow water shading, satellite imagery, and 3-D perspectives (MarinerEye and FishEye). NOAA raster cartography can also be downloaded through the ActiveCaptain app when you want that paper-chart look on a mobile device or compatible system.

• 010-C0703-00: Format microSD/SD. Pre-programmed chart card format for compatible chartplotters that read charts from a card.
• 010-D0533-00: Format Download. Installed using Garmin Express and unlocked to a single compatible chartplotter during setup, then written to a microSD/SD card for use in that unit.

Compatibility and fit

This product is cartography only, so the main fit check is your chartplotter. Confirm your Garmin unit supports BlueChart g3 Vision mapping and that you have an available microSD or SD card slot for chart data.

The pre-programmed card format is not locked to one unit, while the download format is tied to the chartplotter selected during the download and registration process.

Installation and setup

With the microSD/SD version, insert the chart card into the chartplotter’s card slot and select the chart in the chart menu. Keep the card installed while you are using the mapping.

With the download version, Garmin Express installs the chart to a microSD/SD card after you register the target chartplotter. That card needs to stay with the device it was unlocked to.
