Overview
The Garmin 010-12098-00 is a 12-pin transducer adapter cable with a right-angle connector, made for Garmin sonar installs where a straight plug is hard to fit behind the helm or inside an electronics box. The cable length is 0.6 m (23.6 in), which adds a small service loop without leaving a long coil to manage.
This is typically used as a replacement cable or as a short adapter at the sounder end so the transducer lead can be routed with less stress at the connector. It is a simple connection part, so the main fit check is that your system uses the Garmin 12-pin transducer connection and you have clearance for the right-angle plug.
Key features
- 12-pin transducer connection for compatible Garmin sonar and transducer leads
- Right-angle plug helps when the sounder is mounted close to a bulkhead, dash, or bracket
- 0.6 m (23.6 in) cable length for a tidy run with a little slack for service access
- Useful as a replacement or as a strain-relief adapter at the connector end
Compatibility and fit
Before ordering, confirm your sonar module or chartplotter uses the Garmin 12-pin transducer port and that the transducer lead you are connecting is the same 12-pin style. If your setup uses a different connector format, this cable will not mate correctly.
Installation and routing
Plan the cable path so it is supported and does not hang from the connector. Keep the run away from sharp fiberglass edges and moving hardware, and leave enough bend radius so the cable is not forced into a tight kink in the console or rigging tube. For best long-term results in a saltwater environment, keep the connection point as dry as practical and make sure the plug is fully seated and secured.
Use cases on board
This cable is a good match for boats with tight electronics spaces, such as center consoles, bass boats with crowded bow panels, and enclosed helms where a straight transducer plug would press into the back of the mounting surface. It also helps on trailer boats where vibration and repeated access behind the dash can work a cable against the connector if there is no slack.
