Overview
The Garmin 010-12832-55 is a deck-mount stabilizer kit that supports a Force Kraken trolling motor when it is stowed.
It adds a fixed support point on the bow so the stowed shaft is held in place instead of moving around when the boat is running. That matters most on boats that see chop, higher speeds between spots, or routine vibration up front, where a stowed motor can rattle against its own mount and hardware.
This is a mechanical accessory with no wiring, no network connection, and no impact on your 12V or 24V system. Fit comes down to mounting location and clearance: you need room on the deck near the stowed motor, and the stabilizer must not interfere with normal deploy and stow movement.
Key features
- Stabilizes a Force Kraken trolling motor while it is in the stowed position.
- Deck-mounted support point helps keep the stowed shaft from shifting side to side on rough runs.
- Simple, mechanical add-on with no electrical connections or software setup.
- Mounting position is chosen with the motor fully stowed so the support meets the shaft where it naturally rests.
- Helps reduce wear from repeated movement at the bow when the motor is secured but still bouncing.
- Compact deck hardware that keeps the foredeck usable once installed.
Compatibility and fit
This kit is intended for Garmin Force Kraken trolling motors. If your boat has a different trolling motor series or a custom bow mounting setup, confirm that the stowed shaft rests in a place where a deck-mounted support can meet it cleanly without contacting cables or other hardware.
Before drilling, check for clearance below the mounting surface and verify the stabilizer will not interfere with anchor lockers, bow hatches, rails, or the motor’s deploy path.
Installation and setup
Installation is a typical bow accessory job: position the parts with the trolling motor fully stowed, mark the deck location, drill and fasten the deck mount, then secure the stabilizer against the motor shaft. Take time to check alignment with the motor stowed and deployed so nothing binds or rubs during normal operation.
Work safely around the bow: keep power off while you are positioning hardware near the motor and its cabling, and use appropriate backing and sealing practices for your deck material so the mount stays tight over time.
Use cases on board
This stabilizer kit makes the most sense for anglers and cruisers who run with the trolling motor stowed for long stretches and want the bow hardware to stay quieter and more controlled underway. It is also a good match for offshore-capable boats where the stowed motor sees more motion at the bow.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the hardware after saltwater use, and periodically re-check fasteners for tightness, especially after the first few trips. If you notice new movement in the stowed shaft, inspect alignment and make sure the support point is still meeting the shaft where it should.
