Overview
The Garmin 010-12832-01 is a weedless replacement propeller for Garmin Force and Force Kraken trolling motors that helps keep weeds from wrapping around the prop and shaft. It is a practical swap when you spend time in heavy vegetation and want the motor to keep pulling instead of loading up with grass. On the water, that usually means fewer stops to clear the prop when you are working through milfoil, hydrilla, eelgrass, or pad stems.
This prop is meant for the Force family of bow-mount trolling motors, not for outboards or sterndrives. If you are replacing a worn prop or keeping a dedicated weed prop in the boat for certain lakes and flats, this is the kind of part you can change at the ramp and keep fishing.
Key features
- Compatible with Garmin Force trolling motors and Force Kraken trolling motors
- Weed-shedding profile helps reduce wrapping around the prop and shaft in thick grass and floating vegetation
- Useful as a dedicated prop option when your usual fishing areas include weed beds, shallow backwaters, or pad fields
- Good choice to keep on board as a spare when vegetation varies day to day
- Safer prop changes start with stowing the motor and disconnecting battery power before handling the prop
Compatibility and fit
Confirm you have a Garmin Force or Force Kraken trolling motor before ordering. This is a trolling-motor propeller accessory and it is not intended to fit other trolling motor brands or conventional boat propulsion systems.
Installation and setup
Prop changes are straightforward but still worth doing carefully. Stow the motor, disconnect power at the batteries, and remove the existing prop following the same steps you use for routine prop inspection. Before installing the new prop, clear any fishing line from the shaft and check that the prop turns freely by hand after everything is secured.
Use on board
This prop makes the most sense for anglers who fish weedy reservoirs, shallow flats, and marsh edges where vegetation can foul a standard prop quickly. It is also a solid backup to keep in the compartment for trips where you may move between open water and grass throughout the day.
Maintenance and care
After running in weeds, check the prop for wrapped line and clear any buildup before it hardens. A quick freshwater rinse after each trip helps if you fish brackish water or launch in silty areas, and a fast visual inspection at the ramp can prevent vibration or loss of thrust on the next run.
