Overview
The Lumitec SeaBlaze X3 is a surface-mount LED underwater light for boats that need strong transom or hull-side illumination without a large fixture profile. It produces 8,000 lumens, runs on 10-30 VDC systems, and supports both 12V and 24V installations, drawing 5.5A at 12V or 2.5A at 24V.
The bronze housing, 0.85 in depth, and 3.94 in diameter make it a practical fit for many fiberglass and metal hull installations where space, corrosion exposure, and service access all matter. A 0.5 in mounting hole helps keep the installation cleaner than larger through-hull lighting layouts, while the surface-mount format suits transoms, swim platforms, and aft running surfaces where underwater spread is useful at anchor, at the dock, or during night fishing.
SeaBlaze X3 uses Lumitec DryLock technology for thermal management, leak protection, and moisture control inside the light body. It is also Poco system compatible and PLI enabled, giving installers a path to integrated control on boats already using Lumitec lighting control hardware.
Key features
- 8,000-lumen output for underwater lighting around the stern, swim platform, or aft hull area.
- 10-30 VDC input supports common 12V and 24V marine electrical systems.
- Draws 5.5A at 12V or 2.5A at 24V, with a rated power of 65W.
- Surface-mount body with a 3.94 in diameter, 0.85 in depth, and 0.5 in mounting hole for a low-profile hull installation.
- Bronze housing supports use below the waterline in saltwater and freshwater applications.
- DryLock technology manages heat, leakage risk, and internal moisture inside the fixture.
- Poco system compatibility and PLI support allow integration with Lumitec lighting control setups.
- Timed Toggled Protocol support allows control through compatible switching arrangements without requiring a third-party dimmer.
- Operating temperature range of -31°F to +131°F suits a wide range of boating climates.
- Available in Dual-Color White/Blue and RGBW Spectrum configurations.
Variants
The SeaBlaze X3 is offered in two light color configurations. Both versions share the same SeaBlaze X3 surface-mount form factor and core electrical platform, while the light output behavior changes by variant.
The White/Blue version focuses on two common underwater lighting colors. The Spectrum version adds RGBW color output for boats using broader color control through compatible Lumitec lighting systems.
- 101945: Light Color White/Blue. This version gives the boat a choice between white underwater light and blue underwater light, a common setup for transom lighting, dockside appearance, and night use around the stern.
- 101946: Light Color Spectrum. This version uses RGBW Spectrum output for a wider color range and suits installations where the underwater lights are part of a larger color-controlled lighting layout.
Installation and setup
This light is a fit for installers planning a surface-mount underwater lighting layout rather than a larger through-hull fixture. Confirm available space behind the mounting location, check cable routing before drilling, and make sure the mounting surface is clean, flat, and suitable for below-waterline sealing.
Because the unit works across 10-30 VDC, it can be wired into either 12V or 24V DC systems when the circuit is sized correctly for the load. Use marine-grade wiring practices, overcurrent protection, and sealing methods appropriate for the vessel and the mounting location.
Compatibility and control
SeaBlaze X3 is a strong match for boats already using Lumitec lighting control hardware, especially where Poco compatibility and PLI control matter. It also supports Timed Toggled Protocol, which is useful when the lighting plan relies on compatible switch-based control instead of a separate third-party dimmer.
For a clean installation, match the variant to the way the boat will actually be used. White/Blue keeps the setup simple for owners who want the two most common underwater colors, while Spectrum fits boats where color variety and control integration are part of the onboard lighting plan.
Use cases on board
This light is well suited for cruisers, center consoles, sportfishing boats, and performance boats that need underwater lighting around the transom or aft hull. It helps add visibility and atmosphere around the swim platform at anchor, gives the stern a cleaner look at the dock, and can support night fishing setups where underwater illumination is part of the routine.
