The Vimar Idea is a 2P+E 16 A 250 V SICURY socket outlet for French standard plugs, built in the Idea 2-module format. It uses screw terminals, has enhanced contact protection, and carries an IP20 rating for enclosed interior installations.

On board, this type of outlet fits cabins, saloons, galleys, and other finished spaces where the electrical system uses French standard sockets and the surrounding hardware is from the Vimar Idea range. The insert measures 49.8 x 50.1 x 35.5 mm and uses a matt thermoplastic body that is halogen-free.

Variants

This product is offered in two color configurations.

Across both variants, the outlet format, 16 A 250 V rating, 2-module size, screw terminal connection, and IP20 protection stay the same. The difference is the visible front color.

• VM16212.B, Color Ivory. This lighter finish works well where the surrounding trim and faceplates are off-white.
• VM16212, Color Gray. This darker finish sits more quietly with gray switchgear or darker interior panels.

Compatibility and fit

This outlet suits installations already built around Vimar Idea supports and cover plates, and it occupies one 2-module position in that system. It is made for French standard plug geometry, so the onboard AC fittings and plug type need to match that standard.

Because the housing is IP20, it belongs in cabins and other enclosed areas where it is kept away from direct spray, washdowns, and open-weather exposure. It is not meant for exterior decks, cockpits, or locker spaces that stay damp.

Installation and use

The screw terminals suit permanent wiring by a qualified installer, and the flush-mounted body fits best in finished panels or wall sections where mounting depth has already been planned. The front also includes a label space, which helps when circuits are identified by shore power source, inverter feed, or cabin zone.
