Overview
The Lumishore 010-04495-00 is a 1 m neon flex LED strip light that switches between blue and white (5000 K) for onboard accent lighting. It runs on 12V DC systems only (10 to 15V DC), draws up to 0.5A per meter (6W per meter), and uses a 3-wire connection.
The housing is IP68-rated and fully encapsulated, so it holds up well in wet areas and regular washdowns. The light output is diffused for a spot-free look, which matters when the strip is in direct view along steps, toe-kicks, or under-gunwale runs.
Key features
- 12V DC only (10 to 15V DC) with up to 0.5A per meter draw (6W per meter)
- Dual color output with switching between blue and white (5000 K)
- IP68 ingress protection for wet installs and washdowns
- Spot-free diffuser for an even line of light without visible LED dots
- Fully encapsulated and potted construction with UV resistance and salt spray testing
- Cut-to-length design with 30 mm cut increments
- 12.0 mm x 6.1 mm illuminated cross section for tight mounting locations
Compatibility and fit
This strip is sized for 12V boats and should not be tied into 24V supply without proper voltage conversion. For planning runs, the 1 m length is about 39 inches, and the illuminated portion sits within a slim 12.0 mm by 6.1 mm profile, which helps when you are tucking it behind a lip or inside a trim channel.
Installation and setup
Layout first and confirm the bend path around corners and curves, then cut only at the designated 30 mm intervals. Seal the cut end before mounting so water cannot migrate into the strip over time. This style of lighting is commonly installed along cockpit steps, under gunwales, inside coamings, under hardtop overhangs, and along cabin details where you want a continuous line rather than point lighting.
Electrical and control integration
Plan the feed from a properly fused 12V circuit and keep connections protected from spray and bilge moisture. Color switching between blue and white is supported, and control can be as simple as a basic on/off setup or integrated through an ECLIPSE Command Center for expanded control functions like dimming and zoning.
Maintenance and care
Rinse off salt and grime during normal washdowns and periodically check the end seals and wiring protection, especially in high-traffic areas where gear can snag the run. This is a good match for boaters who want a clean blue or white accent line in cockpits, deck edges, or interior highlights while staying within a standard 12V DC electrical system.
