Overview
The Vimar VM14902 is a 2-module surface mounting enclosure that gives you an IP55 protected location for Vimar Eikon, Arké, or Plana devices. The housing is grey plastic and measures 6.8 x 8.3 x 6.6 cm.
It is a practical choice when you need a surface box on a bulkhead or liner and you want a wiring cavity that stands up to spray and routine washdowns around the helm, in the cockpit, or in service areas.
Key features
- IP55 enclosure format to handle spray and water jets when the full assembly is installed correctly
- 2-module surface box sized for Vimar Eikon, Arké, and Plana modular mechanisms
- Overall dimensions: 6.8 x 8.3 x 6.6 cm
- Plastic body with full insulating materials in the wiring space
- Approx. 94 g housing weight
- CE marked
Compatibility and fit
This is the surface enclosure body for a 2-module position. Confirm your device format and series before ordering, since module sizing and frames are specific to the Vimar range being used.
Depending on the final installation, you may also need the matching front cover or plate for the protected system and the chosen switch or outlet components.
Installation and setup
Mount the box to a flat, solid surface and keep cable runs tidy so the device can seat without forcing the wiring. If the mounting surface is thin or insulated, the insulated cavity helps keep conductors separated from the enclosure body.
Seal any penetrations through the mounting surface so water cannot track into the panel. The final protection level depends on correct assembly and careful sealing around the installation.
Use on board
This enclosure fits well on boats that are already standardized on Vimar modular hardware and need a protected surface-mount point where flush mounting is not possible. Typical locations include cockpit side panels, pilothouse bulkheads, lockers, and utility spaces that see damp air and occasional spray.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue as needed and inspect the installed assembly periodically for loose fasteners, cable strain, or gaps around the mounting surface. Keeping the area clean helps the protected enclosure continue to do its job over time.
