Mount the enclosure on a flat surface with appropriate fasteners for your substrate, then route conductors through the cable entry and make terminations to the installed mechanism per the device instructions. In exposed marine locations, sealing screw penetrations and managing cable entry to shed water helps the install stay dry behind the cover. Use tinned marine wire and secure the run to handle vibration.

Use cases on board

This type of IP55 surface enclosure is a good match for switches and small control points installed in cockpits, deck access areas, lockers, and utility spaces where spray happens and hands are often wet.
