Overview

The Vimar Idea is a 2P+E 13 A 250 V English-standard SICURY socket outlet for the IDEA modular range, offered in two colour options and sized for a 2-module opening. It uses screw terminals, mounts flush, and has an IP20 rating for protected interior locations.

The insert measures 49.8 x 50.1 x 35.9 mm and is made from halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt finish. It also includes enhanced contact protection and a label space on the front, which helps when outlets or circuits need to be identified clearly on board.

On boats, this suits interior AC outlet points where the vessel uses the English plug format, such as cabins, the saloon, the galley, or a protected helm console. It is not suited to exposed deck positions or areas that see direct spray.

Variants

This outlet is available in two configurations within the same Vimar Idea format.

The difference between the variants is the finish colour. The electrical rating, 2-module size, flush-mount layout, screw-terminal connection, IP20 protection, and device dimensions remain the same across both options.

• VM16260: Color Gray. A darker finish that sits more quietly against grey switch plates, darker joinery, or helm panels.
• VM16260.B: Color Ivory. A light finish with an off-white look that works well with pale liners, cabinetry, and lighter trim.

Installation and fit

This is a single socket outlet insert with no integrated switch or hinged lid. It fits where a 2-module Vimar Idea device is specified and should be installed in a dry interior position that matches its IP20 protection level.

It is a good match for refits and new interior fit-outs that already use the Vimar Idea range and need an English-standard outlet in a flush-mounted layout. It also suits boats where chargers and small appliances already use the British plug format.
