Overview
The Perko 1183DP0CHR is a fixed-mount combination masthead and white all-round light for sail or power driven vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft.) in length. It uses two 12V, 10W bulbs in separate compartments and carries a 3-mile USCG 3nm rating, which makes it a compact choice where both light functions need to share one mounting point.
The fixture uses a black polymer base with a chrome-plated zinc alloy top, a 3/4 in anodized aluminum tube, and gold-plated contacts. Vertical height is 3-3/16 in, overall height is 4 in, and the base measures 1 in x 2-5/8 in, so it fits neatly on smaller mounting pads where space is limited.
Key features
- Combination masthead and white all-round light in one fixed-mount fixture
- Certified to a 3-mile USCG 3nm rating for sail or power driven vessels under 20 m
- 12V setup with two included 10W bulbs, with 0.80 A draw per compartment
- Black polymer base, chrome-plated zinc alloy top, 3/4 in anodized aluminum tube, and gold-plated contacts
- Compact 1 in x 2-5/8 in base sized for #8 mounting screws
Installation and setup
This light is made for a horizontal mounting surface. The installation pattern uses two #8 mounting screws and a 3/8 in hole for the electrical supply, which is worth checking before replacing an older fixture or drilling a new pad on a mast, arch, or bracket.
The light needs to stand vertical in use, and the arrow on the top cover needs to point forward. Wiring is arranged with separate positive leads for the forward and aft compartments plus a negative lead, so switch layout and lead identification matter when tying it into the boat's navigation-light circuit.
Compatibility and fit
This model suits boats that need a short fixed-mount light rather than a folding pole or a pigtail-style unit. The compact height helps in locations where you need clearance around canvas, antennas, and other hardware, but it is still important to confirm that nearby equipment will not block the light pattern.
It also works well for straightforward refits where the existing base size, screw pattern, and wire routing already match a small fixed mount. On boats with a 12V electrical system, it keeps the installation simple by arriving with the correct bulbs already fitted for standard use.
Use on board
This light makes sense on smaller cruising sailboats, center consoles, and compact powerboats where deck space and mounting space are limited. It is also a practical fit for owners replacing an older incandescent combo light and wanting to stay with the same style of fixed, serviceable fixture.
