Overview
The Garmin 010-12832-35 is a replacement anode kit for Force and Force Kraken trolling motors. It replaces the sacrificial anodes in the propeller drive motor that gradually wear away while protecting the lower unit from corrosion.
The kit covers the two anode locations on the drive motor: the propeller anode that sits under the propeller hardware on the shaft, and the motor anode that mounts on the front of the drive motor behind the nose cone.

Compatibility and fit
This kit is for the anodes on the propeller drive motor assembly. It is intended for Garmin Force and Force Kraken trolling motors.
This is a good match for boats that see brackish water, salt exposure, or marina environments where mixed metals and shore power can speed up corrosion, as long as the motor uses the standard Force anode locations described above.
Installation and maintenance
Disconnect the motor from power before working around the propeller or lower unit. For the propeller anode, remove the propeller nut with a 9/16 in (15 mm) socket, lift off the propeller hardware, and swap the anode on the shaft before reinstalling and tightening the nut to 8.13 N-m (6 lbf-ft).
For the motor anode, access is at the front of the drive motor behind the nose cone. The process involves removing the skeg and nose cone fasteners with hex keys, then removing the screw that holds the anode so it can be cleaned or replaced.
Plan to inspect the anodes at least once each season. If an anode is more than half of its original size, cleaning it with a wire brush or sandpaper is typically sufficient. If it is less than half, replacement keeps the protection working as intended.
After running the motor in salt water or brackish water, rinse the entire motor with fresh water and wipe on a water-based silicone spray with a soft cloth. Avoid directing jets of water at the cap on the top of the shaft.
