Overview

The Garmin 010-01366-00 is a 6 ft open-array radar antenna array that mounts on a compatible GMR Fantom pedestal, and it does not include the pedestal.

Compatibility and system integration

This array is used with the GMR Fantom 4/6 open-array scanner platform. Confirm your existing pedestal and scanner support the 6 ft antenna size before ordering, especially when replacing parts on an older install.

Power and networking are handled at the pedestal as part of the scanner. In a typical GMR Fantom 4/6 installation the scanner runs on 10 to 32 Vdc with a 15 A fuse, and the radar is controlled from a compatible Garmin chartplotter over the Garmin Marine Network.

Installation and setup

Plan for clearance around the rotating array and mount it on a flat surface that is parallel to the vessel waterline and strong enough to support the antenna. Keeping the antenna above nearby obstructions helps reduce blind sectors caused by rigging, lights, or other hardware.

After the physical install, complete the radar installation steps on your chartplotter and set the antenna size to the 6 ft option so the system is configured for the hardware on board.

Use on board

This is a good match for boats that already have a Fantom pedestal mounted on a hardtop, arch, or mast and need the 6 ft array size for a like-for-like replacement after a strike, corrosion, or shipping damage.

Safety and compliance

Radar equipment transmits RF energy. For the 6 ft antenna size, maintain at least 1.70 m (66.9 in) separation for occupational exposure at 100 W/m2, and 5.35 m (210.6 in) for general public exposure at 10 W/m2, whenever the radar is transmitting.
