Overview

The Vimar Supernova Series is a range of portable 2P+E P17/11 axial socket outlets for 250 V circuits up to 16 A, with screw-terminal wiring and an axial cable entry. This version is built for cable-end use rather than fixed wall mounting, so it suits onboard leads, service connections, and other protected AC applications where a straight cable exit makes the installation cleaner.

The body is made from halogen-free thermoplastic and carries an IP20 rating, which places it in dry interior spaces or other sheltered areas on board. It also supports use with protective contact pins, so fit and compatibility should be checked against the matching plug pattern and the vessel’s AC system before installation.

Variants

This outlet is offered in two color configurations.

Across both versions, the verified electrical and connection details stay the same: 2P+E P17/11 format, 16 A and 250 V rating, axial cable entry, screw-terminal connection, halogen-free thermoplastic construction, and IP20 protection. The change between variants is the housing color.

• VM00223: Black. The darker finish keeps the outlet body less noticeable on black trim, dark panels, or utility areas with darker interiors.
• VM00223.B: White. The lighter finish sits more naturally against white liners, light cabinetry, or pale interior panels.

Installation and fit

This is a straight-insert outlet with axial cable entry, so it works well where the cable needs to leave the body in line rather than turning out to one side. That can help in lockers, behind joinery, or in compact service spaces where side clearance is limited.

Because it is an IP20 outlet, it belongs in cabins, enclosed helm areas, technical lockers, or other dry spaces with protection from spray and washdowns. On boats that already use Italian standard portable AC accessories, it fits replacement work and new cable-end assemblies where the plug pattern, voltage, and current rating all match the existing system.

Use on board

This product makes sense for owners, yards, and marine electricians working on protected interior AC connections rather than exposed deck circuits. It is a practical match for refit and maintenance work where color choice matters visually but the electrical format stays the same.
