Overview
The Vimar Supernova Series is a portable 2P+E French axial outlet range for 16A, 250V AC service.
It is a rewirable socket outlet for portable leads and replacement cord-end work where a French standard connection is required. The straight axial cable entry keeps the cable run in line with the body, and the screwed terminal connection suits clean, secure wire termination during assembly.
The housing is thermoplastic, halogen free, and rated IP20. On board, that places it in dry interior spaces such as cabins, enclosed utility areas, or other protected locations rather than exposed deck positions or washdown zones.
Key features
- Portable 2P+E French standard socket outlet rated at 16A and 250V AC
- Axial cable entry for a straight cable exit from the back of the outlet body
- Screwed terminal connection for rewirable cord-end assembly
- IP20 protection for dry, sheltered interior use
- Thermoplastic body that is halogen free
- Part of Vimar's Supernova portable plugs and sockets range
Variants
This product is offered in more than one finish.
Across the listed variants, the outlet format, 16A 250V rating, portable body style, and axial cable entry remain the same. The visible difference between these versions is the housing color.
- VM00251: Black. This finish suits darker interiors, utility spaces, or equipment areas where the outlet needs to blend in visually.
- VM00251.B: White. This finish is easier to match with lighter cabin interiors, galley spaces, or white service panels.
Compatibility and fit
This is a portable outlet, not a flush-mount wall socket. It is a good match for boats and shore-side setups that use French style 2P+E plugs on portable appliances, extension leads, or replacement connectors.
Before ordering, check the plug standard on the equipment lead and confirm that the installation location is dry and protected. For marine AC systems, it also makes sense to verify cable type and conductor size before assembly so the finished lead matches the rest of the onboard electrical setup.
Use on board
This outlet makes sense for owners replacing a worn connector on a portable cabin appliance lead, building a protected interior extension lead, or keeping a spare cord-end fitting onboard for service work. It is most relevant on boats that operate with 230V-class AC equipment using French plug compatibility.
