The Vimar Idea is a reduced-module Italian standard socket outlet for 250 V AC circuits, with a 2P+E 16 A P17/11 format, one-module layout, and IP20 protection. On board, it fits enclosed interior spaces where an Italian standard receptacle is needed for shore power or inverter-fed AC distribution, rather than exposed areas that see spray or washdowns.

This is a flush-mounted outlet with screw terminals, enhanced contact protection, and a label space on the front. The body is made from halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt finish, which keeps the face simple and easy to match with other Vimar Idea devices in cabins, galleys, crew areas, or enclosed helm stations.

Variants

This outlet is offered in two colour configurations within the same Vimar Idea reduced-module range.

Across the range, the electrical format stays the same: 2P+E, 16 A, 250 V, Italian standard P17/11, one module, screw terminals, enhanced contact protection, and IP20 flush-mounted installation. The visible change between variants is the finish.

• VM17033, Color Gray. This darker finish sits quietly on grey or darker trim panels and keeps the outlet less visually prominent in technical or utility spaces.
• VM17033.B, Color Ivory. This lighter finish works well where the surrounding switches, plates, or interior trims use pale tones.

Installation and placement

This is a flush-mounted device for the Vimar Idea system, so fit should be checked against the matching support and plate arrangement already used on the boat. Its one-module format helps in compact interior panels where AC outlets need to share space with switches or other reduced-module devices.

Because it is IP20 and does not have a hinged lid, it belongs in dry interior areas rather than open cockpits, exterior bulkheads, deck lockers, or other wet locations.

Electrical and system fit

This outlet is built for 250 V AC service and follows the Italian P17/11 standard, so it should be matched to plugs and onboard AC systems that use that pattern. It is not a 12 V or 24 V DC outlet, and it does not add USB charging, switching, overvoltage protection, or fault-current protection at the outlet itself.

Use on board
