Overview

The Vimar Idea is a 2-module SICURY socket outlet for Italian standard P30 plugs, with lateral and central earth contacts, a 16 A / 250 V rating, and IP20 protection. It uses screw terminals and a flush-mounted format within the Vimar Idea modular range.

On board, this outlet makes sense in protected interior spaces such as cabins, galleys, and navigation areas where a built-in AC receptacle is needed for equipment that uses the Italian P30 plug pattern. The halogen-free thermoplastic body has a matt finish and includes a front label space, which is useful when circuits need to be identified at the panel.

Because it is IP20 and has no lid, it is better suited to dry locations than exposed deck, cockpit, or washdown areas.

Across the listed versions, the electrical format stays the same: 2P+E Italian P30, 16 A / 250 V, 2 modules, screw-terminal connection, flush mounting, and IP20 protection. The visible change across the range is the outlet color.

• VM16209.B - Color Ivory. This lighter finish sits naturally with pale liners, cabinetry, and traditional cabin interiors.
• VM16209.R - Color Red. The red version stands out clearly where visual separation from standard outlets matters.
• VM16209.A - Color Orange. The orange version is easy to spot on service panels and other locations where outlets are identified by color.

Installation and fit

This outlet is a flush-mounted device with a width of 49.8 mm, height of 50.1 mm, and depth of 38.8 mm. Before ordering, check that the boat is set up for the Vimar Idea module format and that there is enough depth behind the panel once conductor routing is taken into account.

Because it is a fixed 250 V outlet with screw terminals, it belongs on a properly protected AC circuit and should only be used where the connected plug follows the Italian P30 standard.

Use on board

This is a good match for refits and replacement work on boats that already use Vimar Idea devices or Italian-format cabin outlets. It suits dry accommodation spaces more than open working areas, and it works especially well where a labeled outlet and a consistent interior finish matter.
