Overview

The Vimar Idea is a single-pole normally closed modular push button for protected interior switch panels on board. It is rated at 10 A and 250 V~, uses built-in snap mounting, and carries an IP40 protection rating, so it belongs in dry interior spaces rather than exposed cockpit or deck locations.

This is the luminous version with a general symbol on the front, and it is supplied without the signalling unit. The body is thermoplastic, halogen-free, and finished in matt plastic, with a label area on the front and a compact format that measures 24.80 mm wide and 36.10 mm deep.

Variants

This product is offered in two color configurations within the same IDEA push-button range.

The confirmed change across these variants is the front color. Both versions share the same 1P NC format, 10 A at 250 V~ rating, luminous front, IP40 protection, and snap-in built-in installation. The listed width is 24.80 mm and the depth is 36.10 mm for both, while height is 50.10 mm for the gray version and 48.00 mm for the ivory version.

• VM16092: Color Gray. This finish matches gray IDEA trim and other gray modules in the same interior panel.
• VM16092.B: Color Ivory. This finish suits lighter IDEA plates and keeps the switch layout visually consistent in cabins and accommodation spaces.

Compatibility and fit

This module fits the Vimar IDEA modular switching system and is meant to be installed behind the matching support and cover plate. It is not a stand-alone weather-resistant switch, so it should be used where the surrounding panel already provides the correct IDEA mounting format.

On boats, it is a sensible fit for interior living spaces and service areas where Vimar domestic modules are already in use. It is not suited to washdown zones, open helms, or any position that sees direct spray, salt buildup, or full outdoor exposure.

Electrical and switching logic

The contact arrangement is normally closed, which matters when replacing an existing push button. Many momentary controls use normally open logic, so the circuit should be checked before ordering or installation.

Because this is a 250 V~ device, it belongs in the vessel's AC accommodation or service circuits rather than low-voltage 12 V or 24 V DC systems unless the circuit design specifically calls for it.
