Overview
This Attwood Marine 12V DC push/pull switch is a panel-mounted control for boat lighting and other low-voltage DC accessories. The range covers two common layouts: a simple Off/On switch for one circuit, and an Off/On/On switch for separating functions such as running lights and anchor lights.
Both versions are for 12-volt DC systems only and use screw terminals, so wiring can be made without a wire lug. Each switch has a 3/4 inch chrome-plated knob and a brass case, giving the helm, cockpit, cabin panel, or small accessory panel a familiar push-pull control that is easy to grip.
These switches are commonly used for lighting circuits on small boats, center consoles, runabouts, fishing boats, and utility panels where a straightforward mechanical switch is preferred over a rocker or toggle. They are not external ignition protected, so they should not be installed where ignition protection is required.
Key features
- 12-volt DC operation for standard boat accessory and lighting circuits.
- Push-pull action gives the operator a clear tactile control at the helm or accessory panel.
- Two-position and three-position configurations cover single-circuit use as well as split navigation and anchor light control.
- 3/4 inch chrome-plated knob gives the switch a clean panel appearance and a handle that is easy to pull.
- Brass case construction supports use in typical marine electrical panels.
- Screw terminals allow wire connection without a separate wire lug.
- Not external ignition protected, so placement should be limited to suitable non-ignition-protected locations.
Variants
This product is offered in two configurations for different switching needs on a 12V DC boat panel.
The main difference is the number of switch positions and the circuit function. The general push-pull format, 12V DC use, screw-terminal connection, 3/4 inch chrome-plated knob, and brass case remain consistent across the range.
- 7563-6: Two-position switch with Off/On function. This version is suited to one set of lights or another single accessory circuit where the panel only needs a simple on and off control.
- 7594-3: Three-position switch with Off/On/On function. This version supports separate lighting functions such as running lights and anchor lights from one push-pull control.
Installation and fit
Use this switch on a properly fused 12V DC circuit and mount it where the knob can be reached without strain. The screw terminals simplify basic service work because the wiring can be secured directly at the switch, but all connections should still be clean, tight, and protected from spray, bilge moisture, and vibration as part of a sound marine electrical installation.
Because the switch is not external ignition protected, it should not be used in gasoline engine spaces, fuel tank compartments, or other areas where ignition-protected equipment is required. For helm panels, cabin panels, or protected accessory panels, it works well as a simple replacement or new-install control when the switch function matches the circuit.
Use cases on board
The two-position version fits straightforward accessory control, such as one light circuit or a basic onboard electrical load. The three-position version is a practical match for navigation light arrangements where running and anchor lighting need to be controlled separately from the same location.
This range is a good fit for boat owners and installers who want a traditional push-pull switch style rather than a rocker switch, especially on small craft, refit panels, and replacement jobs where a simple 12V DC control is the right choice.
