Overview

The Garmin USB-C Vehicle Power Cable is a USB-C power lead for compatible Garmin navigators when you want simple power from a 12 V accessory socket on board. • 010-13199-03: Includes 12 V adapter: Yes. Extra USB port: Yes. This version adds a second charging port at the adapter, which is useful when the helm outlet is already limited.

Compatibility and fit

Confirm your navigator uses a USB-C power input and is listed as compatible with the USB-C vehicle power cable style. If your unit uses a different connector style or a hardwired marine power harness, this is not the right lead.

If you plan to run it on a boat, it works best when the outlet and plug connection are in a protected location such as inside a console, under the dash, or in the cabin where spray and washdowns will not reach the adapter.

Installation and setup

Route the cable so it can reach the mounting location without being pulled tight, and secure it so it will not chafe on sharp edges or get pinched by hatches. A small drip loop before the navigator helps keep any moisture that finds its way into the area from running straight down the cable toward the connector.

For configurations that include the 12 V adapter, plug it into the accessory socket and connect the USB-C end to the navigator. For the cable-only configuration, make sure you have a compatible Garmin 12 V adapter or power source already in place before installation.

Maintenance and care

Keep the plug and adapter contacts clean and dry, and avoid leaving the connection where it will sit in standing water. If it gets salt spray on it, wipe it down with a lightly damp cloth and let it dry before stowing to reduce corrosion on the contacts.
