Overview
The Raymarine PP50-916 is a Performance Pack 50 wireless instrument system for yachts 50' and over. It brings together mast-mounted Maxi displays, wind sensing, speed, depth, compass input, and remote display control in one package for larger sailing yachts where visible performance data matters from the helm, cockpit, and rail.
The system centers on three T210 Maxi Displays, which are solar-powered wireless mast displays with large 50 mm digits for quick reading at a distance. The included T222 vertical wind transmitter measures apparent wind speed and direction and uses Raymarine Micronet wireless communication, helping reduce wiring through the mast while keeping key sailing data available on deck.
Key features
- Complete wireless instrument package for yachts 50' and over, with displays, wind, speed, depth, compass, remote display, and mast mounting components included.
- Three T210 Maxi Displays give the crew clear mast-mounted data visibility during starts, maneuvers, trimming, and offshore watchkeeping.
- Solar-powered wireless display and wind components help reduce cable runs through the mast and deck.
- T222 vertical wind transmitter places the wind sensor higher above the rig to reduce mainsail upwash effects and improve apparent wind readings.
- Includes target speed, distance to line, set and drift, auto screen change, tack-to-tack correction, speed trim, acceleration, and trend indication functions for racing and performance sailing.
- 8 Hz system data rate with 2 Hz display update supports responsive instrument feedback while sailing and trimming.
- Remote display starter system adds control and repeat-display functionality from elsewhere on board.
Installation and setup
This package is suited to larger yachts where mast display visibility and reduced wiring are priorities. The supplied T234 mast bracket supports a three-up Maxi Display layout, keeping the main performance numbers grouped where crew can read them from the cockpit or rail.
The speed and depth system uses a triducer, so installation planning should include the correct through-hull location for clean water flow and useful depth readings. The wind transmitter and mast bracket should be installed where they have a clear exposure to airflow and where service access is practical.
System integration
The wireless components work within Raymarine Micronet instrument systems. The vertical wind transmitter can also be brought into a wired SeaTalk ng network when used with a compatible MicroTalk wireless gateway, which is useful on boats that already run Raymarine navigation displays or autopilot equipment.
For a yacht moving from older individual instruments to a performance-focused display layout, this pack covers the core sailing data set: wind, boat speed, depth, compass heading, start-line tools, and trim feedback.
Use on board
This package makes the most sense for larger sailing yachts used for performance cruising, club racing, offshore racing, and crewed sailing where multiple people need to see the same numbers quickly. The three Maxi Displays are especially useful when different data pages need to be visible at once, such as wind angle, boat speed, and start-line or trim data.
