Overview
The Garmin 010-11425-04 is a right-angle, threaded power cable used to supply power to compatible Garmin GPSMAP MFD and chartplotter systems. It measures 6.5 ft (2 m), which is enough length for a clean run from your power distribution point to a helm, electronics locker, or black box location without having to stretch the wiring.
The right-angle connector is helpful when the display is flush-mounted and there is limited clearance behind the panel. The threaded collar keeps the connection from backing off in vibration, so the plug stays seated when the boat is pounding or when you are working behind the dash.
Key features
- 6.5 ft (2 m) cable length for typical helm and console runs
- Right-angle connector reduces the depth needed behind a flush-mounted display
- Threaded locking connection helps prevent accidental loosening over time
- Used as a replacement power lead for compatible Garmin GPSMAP installations
- Gives room to leave a small service loop, making future removal and service easier
Compatibility and fit
This cable is used on Garmin GPSMAP systems that take a threaded power connection, including many GPSMAP 6200/7200, 8200, 8400, and 8600 series chartplotters, plus GPSMAP 8500/8530 black box systems and the GLS 10 sonar module. Confirm your unit uses the threaded, right-angle style power lead before ordering, since Garmin uses different power connectors across product families.
This is a power cable, not a network or transducer extension. If you are chasing a sonar or data connection issue, make sure you are addressing the correct harness in the system.
Installation and setup
Route the cable where it will stay dry and protected, and keep it away from steering gear, sharp edges, and high-heat areas. When passing through bulkheads, use a grommet and leave a drip loop where water could track along the jacket.
Secure the run with cushioned clamps and avoid tight bends at the connectors, especially right behind the display. The right-angle plug helps in shallow spaces, but it still benefits from a little strain relief so the connector is not carrying the weight of the cable.
Electrical and system integration
Connect the supply end to your boat’s DC distribution using the fuse and wire sizing required for the specific Garmin device being powered. This cable supports the voltage range of the connected GPSMAP system, so it can be used on boats with 12V or 24V electrical systems as long as the device itself is rated for that supply.
Use cases on board
This cable is a good match for helm refits where the display is flush-mounted in a tight dash, for center consoles with limited space behind the MFD, and for installations where a locking connector matters because the boat sees regular chop or offshore runs.
