Overview
The Raymarine T70602 is an Axiom2 XL 16 glass bridge chartplotter bundle with the RVM1600 RealVision MAX sonar module for a large-helm navigation and fishfinding setup. The 15.6 inch IPS touchscreen has 1920 x 1080 resolution, 1300 nit illumination, and HydroTough nano-coating to help keep the display usable when spray, glare, and wet fingers are part of the day.
This bundle suits serious helm upgrades on sportfish boats, cruisers, pilothouse boats, and larger center consoles where one display may need to handle charts, radar, sonar, engine data, cameras, autopilot, and onboard media. The display supports 12 V dc and 24 V dc systems with an 8 V dc to 32 V dc operating range, while the Axiom2 XL 16 housing carries IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings for exposed and protected helm locations.
The included RVM1600 module adds RealVision MAX SideVision, DownVision, 3D, and traditional CHIRP sonar capability when paired with compatible transducers. It gives anglers a stronger black-box sonar platform while keeping the main display free to work as the center of the boat's navigation network.
Key features
- 15.6 inch Axiom2 XL display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 1300 nit illumination for use at bright daytime helms and during low-light running.
- HydroTough touchscreen coating helps shed water so chart work and menu control stay practical when the screen is wet.
- Six-core processor and 64 GB internal solid-state storage support fast chart use, apps, waypoint storage, and LightHouse operation.
- Works on 12 V dc or 24 V dc electrical systems, with an 8 V dc to 32 V dc operating range and a 15 A fuse rating for the Axiom2 XL 16 display.
- Three PoE RayNet Ethernet ports support networking with compatible displays, radar, cameras, sonar modules, and other Raymarine system components.
- NMEA 2000 DeviceNet connection allows integration with compatible vessel data, engine data, instruments, and autopilot systems.
- HDMI input and output, USB touch connections, RCA audio output, composite video inputs, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth give the helm more options for video, remote display, media, and control layouts.
- RVM1600 sonar module supports RealVision MAX 3D, DownVision, SideVision, and traditional CHIRP sonar for fishing, structure viewing, and bottom tracking.
- RVM1600 supports 600 W RealVision MAX High CHIRP and 1 kW traditional dual-channel CHIRP with compatible transducers.
- IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings on both the display and the RVM1600 module help suit marine installations exposed to spray and washdown conditions.
Installation and fit
The Axiom2 XL 16 display measures 248.22 mm high by 394.9 mm wide, with a depth of 174.95 mm including cables, and weighs 5.9 kg. Those dimensions matter when planning a flush helm, electronics panel, or glass bridge refit, especially where cable bend radius and access behind the dash are limited.
The same mounting footprint as Axiom XL helps simplify some upgrades, but the installer should still check the cutout, rear clearance, cable routing, and service access before committing to the panel. The display also requires a remote card reader for external storage, so that location should be planned into the helm layout when chart cards or removable media will be used.
Electrical and network integration
The display's RayNet, NMEA 2000, HDMI, USB, analog video, audio, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connections make it suitable for a multi-display helm or a single central display with several connected systems. A typical installation may combine navigation charts, radar, sonar, cameras, autopilot data, engine data, and sailing tools on one interface.
The RVM1600 uses a RayNet network connection to communicate with compatible Axiom chartplotters and has separate connections for power, RealVision MAX transducers, and 1 kW CHIRP transducers. Its 10.8 V dc to 31.2 V dc operating range supports both 12 V and 24 V installations, with a 5 A inline fuse or thermal breaker rating.
Sonar use on board
For fishing boats, the RVM1600 adds side-looking, down-looking, 3D, and conventional CHIRP views that help read bottom shape, bait, structure, and fish targets around the boat. RealVision MAX transducers can add AHRS stabilization for 3D sonar imagery and built-in water temperature sensing, depending on the selected transducer.
This package is a strong match for owners building a Raymarine-based helm where the display has to do more than show charts. It is especially useful when the boat needs a large screen for navigation and a separate sonar module for deeper fishfinding capability, rather than relying on a small standalone fishfinder.
