Overview

The Vimar Plana Series is a 2P+E American outlet for flush-mounted installations that need a 15A, 250V receptacle in the Plana modular format. It works at 50-60Hz, uses screw terminals, and the 1-module body measures 22.3 x 49 x 36.9 mm.

The outlet is made from halogen-free thermoplastic with a glossy finish and IP20 protection, so it belongs in protected interior spaces on board rather than areas exposed to spray or washdowns. It fits well in cabins, galleys, helm consoles, and other dry locations where an American-standard socket is needed within a coordinated switch and outlet layout.

Variants

This outlet is offered in two finish options within the same Plana form factor.

The finish and color change between variants. The electrical rating, dimensions, mounting method, screw-terminal connection, and IP20 protection remain the same across both versions.

• VM14247: White finish, RAL 9003, with an untreated glossy surface. This version blends easily with white switch plates, liners, and lighter interior joinery.
• VM14247.SL: Silver finish, RAL 9006, with a lacquered glossy surface. This version gives the installation a more technical look and pairs well with metallic trim or darker panels.

Installation and fit

This outlet is a practical choice for interior AC points in yachts, sailboats, and powerboats where the panel is already built around the Vimar Plana system. For retrofit work, check module compatibility, box depth, and whether the support frame and cover plate are already part of the existing installation.

Because it is an IP20 device, it is better suited to accommodation and control spaces below deck than to cockpits, open decks, or other areas that see regular moisture. It is a good match for builders and owners who need an American-standard receptacle in a neat flush-mounted layout.
