The Vimar Plana series is a 5-module British Standard cover plate used to finish a BS-format bank of switches, outlets, or other modular inserts in the Plana range. The plate footprint is 155 mm wide by 95 mm high with a 9 mm profile, and it can be installed horizontally or vertically depending on your layout.
On a boat this is typically used in protected interior areas such as cabins, heads, or the nav station where you want a consistent faceplate over your electrical inserts. The protection rating is IP00, which means it does not provide ingress protection, so it should not be relied on in areas exposed to spray or washdowns.

The front size and BS 5-module format remain the same across the range (155 x 95 x 9 mm), but fixing style and which box types the plate suits can vary by version, so match the plate to the correct Plana 5-module BS frame and the type of installation you are using.
Installation and fit
This is a finishing plate only and it does not change the electrical rating of the devices behind it. Confirm you are building a British Standard 5-module layout and that your inserts and mounting frame are from the Plana BS system so the openings and fixing method line up correctly.
For a clean result on board, mount it on a flat surface and avoid locations where the panel flexes. In higher vibration areas, check that the plate stays fully seated during routine electrical panel inspections.
Use on board
This plate is a practical match for interior refits where the boat already uses BS-format wiring accessories, or for new builds where you want a consistent look across accommodation lighting controls and outlet points. For cockpit, transom, or other wet locations, plan on an IP-rated enclosure rather than relying on the plate alone.
